Now we just need one or 2 big DT gets in the portal and the DL should be pretty damn good next year.

Bryce Young, Traore, Bothelo, Onye (hopefully), Burnham, and the transfers?

I like it

D should be very very good again next year.

History tells us that when a kid comes back for a 5th (or 6th), a younger guy who was planning on having a spot in the two deep who no longer does, transfers out.

We will have 4 DEs in the two-deep.
Traore, Botehlo, Young, Burnham.
Then you will have packages with a hybrid on the edge (like with Sneed this year).

So next year, where to Jr. and Thomas play?
Or some of the other kids who will be sophomores?

I think there will be a minimum of one transfer, possibly two.

If I'm not mistaken, Tuihalamaka was an early enrollee in Jan '22. It's likely he may have his degree after the winter semester. I have a feeling that he's the guy that will look for a new opportunity elsewhere. I don't think he wants to be a true senior (with zero eligibility after '25) in kind of a rotation where the other two players, Traore & Burhnam, are better pass rushers at a position that requires pressure from the outside.

I fully expect Traore to not be ready by the start of the year, and will likely need several weeks to get in game shape. I’m not expecting more than him being in on passing downs the latter part of next season.

Jr probably transfers as someone else mentioned. He’s good enough to start for some other programs, and should be on pace to graduate this spring.

Would not be surprised if Thomas is a transfer candidate, but hopefully they can keep him around.

Irish Illustrated Instant Analysis:
Prister says "could be complications with Botelho"
Brice says "he's been told the road to recovery could be very long and challenging"
They went as far to say it is slower than anticipated and a full recovery seems not a guarantee.

Damn. I really hope this isn’t a Jaylon Smith type injury with nerve damage and drop foot complications after recovery.

I’d bet he doesn’t come out of the gate next season as a starter……probably a role player. I hope Botelho crushes his recovery and makes me eat those words.

Really like how he had developed over the last two years.... Hated watching him go down. Looking forward to seeing him back healthy

Good to hear the progress. Helluva injury. I remember when Dayne Crist ruptured his patella vs Tulsa in 2010. This was after coming back from ACL tear.

Massive news of true. Are there any experts on the board that can confirm that's a realistic timeline based on his injury?
Its a year for full recovery on an ACL tear, has to be similar for patella tendon or worse. Please ignore if you are really looking for an expert, or someone who stayed at a Holiday In Express last night, I am neither.
