He only posted stats in more than four games once, 2022, so its possible. Not too many ways a QB can play without stats (holder?). So at least two, the covid year and a standard redshirt year. Not sure how he gets to the third, maybe a waiver due to injury?

Did he get hurt this year, or just suck?

He wanted to play, and he clearly wasn't going to get that here. I agree though, if he wanted to play I'm not sure Arizona State was the right choice. He needed a MAC school probably.
