2-0 for just the 2nd time since 2005. Didn't know where to post this, but what a sad stat lol.

Haven't been 3-0 since 2002 and 1996 before that.

Wow, that is some grim info. Didn't realize how bad things had become. Undefeated is undefeated though. Take it one week at a time and thank God for Tuitt and Nix. Go Irish!

I'm so happy to be 2-0! We beat a really good Purdue Defense..., I really suspect that we beat an 8-9 win football team. We won and that is all that matters.

Yeah, I love a positive thread. We are 2-0. Here's another stat .. before yesterday we were 0-8 on Sept 8th. Good teams win tough games.

I've avoided it until now, and I see that it was a wise decision.

Lotta chicken littles around this board.

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere, but among the positives, for me anyway, was definitely the C patch the captains were wearing. Excellent addition.

Ranked teams that lost to or struggled with inferior opponents yesterday:
-#8 Arkansas lost to Louisiana-Monroe. At home.
-#13 Wisconsin lost to Oregon State while mustering only 7 points of offense.
-#16 Nebraska lost to UCLA.
-#18 Oklahoma State got blown out by an unranked Arizona team that, the week before, needed OT to get by Toledo at home.
-#19 Michigan came extremely close to losing to Air Force... needing a 4th down stop in their own territory late in the 4th quarter to preserve a 6 point victory.
-#24 Florida really should've lost to Texas A&M.

So 6 of the other top 24 teams either lost or struggled mightily... with another 14 of the top 24 teams playing traditional "walkover" opponents... so only 4 of the of the top 25 teams played a legitimate opponent and did not struggle or lose. Those 4? USC playing Syracuse and struggling for most of the game and certainly not covering the spread. LSU trouncing Washington. Kansas State trouncing Miami. Georgia pulling away late in the 4th from Missouri who led them through the 3rd quarter.

So if all fans around the country acted like our fans... only really LSU and Kansas State fans would be "happy" with their teams performance. What a joke. In football, sh*t happens. It's true at every level... it's a unpredictable game. Kansas City beat the freaking undefeated Green Bay Packers last season.... one of the Saint's 3 losses was to the lowly TB Bucs... and every year there are countless upsets of teams much better than ND by teams much worse than Purdue.

Did I mention we lost a half dozen key senior starters to injury during the game? Sheesh. BE HAPPY! I don't know if I've ever been more happy with the mental toughness of this team than I was yesterday... in previous seasons, that's a game we lose 10/10 times.

Oh, I'm happy because that was a tough win that was not perfectly played, but it was fun.

Just don't kid yourself.......... Sparty will be the toughest running game we have faced yet. I'm not saying that we can't contain it, but it will definitely be a "big boy" running attack.

It will be the most skilled runner we have faced. the scheme Navy runs is tough and they have multiple runners wich makes it tougher to defend. I think we should do good as long as we TACKLE him.

I said toughest. The Oline averages right about 300lbs., and their tailback is 240+. Our D is going to take some smacks like they haven't had yet. We should be up to the challenge, but we just won't know until it happens.

Could probably throw in there USC battling with Syracuse. Their defense looked porous.

What? other top ranked teams struggled or lost? They must have played an awesome team or something.

What? Notre Dame struggled? They suck, this will be a long season.
