Yep, I am on board with this guy. Its a bit deceiving with all the sweeps but has a burst and runs hard. Seems to have a 5th gear.

He looks like a good RB but it's really difficult to gauge. He was running through huge lanes most of the time, or had lots of room to make his reads (sweeps). This is the type of RB film I have the hardest time evaluating.

King certainly has more top end speed but that is less important to me in a RB.

Certainly has the long speed folks are looking for. Solid offer. And to the bolded, Brian Perroni at 247 thinks this kid will eventually blow up. This might start it. The tweets coming out of Amarillo, about ND being in town, show how secluded that part of Texas is.

Only thing I like about Doerue over Williams is his size.

Dourue is a ginormous 5'11 200lbs aka King Kong, w

while mini me Williams is a miniscule 5'10 200lbs.

His team uses 3 back sets and the QB was the leading rusher.. If the stats are correct, they passed for only 400 yds.

A far as his speed. He's fast... His best 100m time is 10.94. Fast but behind ND's current track guys. His teammate, WR Brandon White runs 10.4's. Baylor and KU offered in recent days, he's on ND's radar now too.

Competition is iffy. They play in TX's 2nd highest Class in the Friday Night Light's conference w/ the once mighty Permian, Odessa and Midland Lee's but none of those teams were ranked in the top 75 by Maxpreps. Besides that, the schedule is bad.

To this point, apparently the coach is or at least considering changing the entire offense to feature him this year. Those other RB's you mentioned are gone and he's going to be "the" guy.

I sense the sarcasm, lol. However, I do think King has better long speed. They seem like a good compliment to each other.

Side note, I do find it funny that there is this either or conversation around Williams and other backs. I have a great idea, how about we take both!

Well...we certainly need two backs.....so I am in favour.....personally liked Williams film better as he showed he is a very strong runner, which is a requirement at the P5 level.

Would be very curious to see KW's numbers from the Chicago opening......but would be happy to have both.

This whole debate about Kyren Williams... and / or / is / isn't... vs. other RB's is silly (thx Koon). Kyren Williaam is a football player in the same way Tariq Bracy is. Does it all from any spot on the field, at the best program (which happens o be Catholic), in a major metro area (and state). He checks every box except he's not Kenan Christon fast, well... who is? Williams is a take no matter what.

King is very interesting. As someone said above, I wish there were some more realistic film showing him running off tackle or up the middle in traffic instead of all of the pitches in pace with 10 yards of turf to get up to speed before he jukes one LB/DB. Fun film though. Not too often you get to see busy 3 back sets for multiple plays followed by the Power I.

Not to nitpick, but Vianney isn't the best program in the state. They had a good season last year and smacked around some Class 6 teams but Christian Brothers was probably the best program in the state last year (they won the Class 6 tournament).

Not sure what the staff is up to, but a bunch of CB's have come in for Baylor in the last couple of weeks. Looks like it's trending away.

To be fair, there's not a lot of RBs on our board to recruit right now. I think Doerue is the last uncommitted RB we're in on at all. Maybe when things pick up again after the dead period?
