guessing it was elston since he checked in on Lacey.
IMO Spears is without question a DT not a SDE whereas Anderson is a SDE who may outgrow the position but as of now he's a SDE.It'll be interesting to see what the staff does if Anderson and Spears come on board. They seem to be very similar players. Do they both grow into interior d-linemen or does one of them stay on the outside?

Recruiting Wrap: Notre Dame, Tennessee and South Carolina are among the schools heavily in the mix for Anderson.
Performance: Anderson has dropped some weight since finishing his junior season and it's already paying major dividends as he looked much quicker and agile while working through drills. Ranked as a defensive tackle, it's looking more like Anderson could play end as well. That type of versatility is while colleges with different types of defensive fronts like his skillset and will continue to pursue him.
Not really athletic enough to really be an edge rusher, I think he ends up inside. Is really stout and sheds blocks well, would probably be a great 5-Technique in a 3-4.
What is an edge rusher? A situational player who only plays on 3rd downs or obvious passing situations? Because if that's what you are explaining, I totally agree. He's the prototype every down SDE, that will be able to play all 3 downs. Something we haven't had a long time. Though I do think Kareem is going to get there.

I disagree to an extent. I thought Jay Hayes had a strong year as a SDE. I think this kid is a more athletic version.
The other thing which hasn't been touched upon regarding SDE & WDE. NOM didn't show up for Junior Day at the listed 227. Where's he gonna end up weight wise?
Where are they gonna stick Brandon Smith when reality hits and he's a DE?
There's so many variables in the 2019 line that they need to work out and the first thing is to figure out who's going inside and how many they are going to take because right now it appears they have the pick of the litter and not enough spots.
It thrills me to type that for once!
Lets make sure that we get all these players first.
They can't get them all, but they'll get all the 4*'s they can take... and maybe a 5*
I've been convinced that DT recruiting would be fixed with the '19 class for a bout a year, same as I awarded ND the Joe Moore Award and the O'Line U title 2 years ago.
There's no stopping this train, the only question is who will be the passengers when it gets to the station.
Yep. He looks like what we lost in Rochelle
I think Jay Hayes had a really good year in certain aspects but clearly provided very little pass rush. So much so that he starting lose more and more snaps to Kareem.
Same goes for Isaac R. The last SDE we had that was an effective 3 down player was Tuitt.

I'll believe it when I see a picture of him on campus, after he's committed and the ink has dried.
He's the type of player I get super excited about and then he chooses another team in the final few weeks of recruiting.
This has nothing to do with his character
