Over Julius Jones?I'll say this about Kyren Williams, He's the absolute best running back we've had in years. Certainly the best since Autry Denson IMO.
Over Julius Jones?
Idk man I think Darius Walker was better than Julius Jones

On the same team, all things being equal, Jones in RB1 and Walker is RB2.
On a BK team, Walker was probably the more complete back and is RB1. I always saw Jones more like Dexter Williams. Fantastic runner, but not as great a blocker or pass catcher. Walker had 43 receptions in 2005, and 56 the next year. Jones never had more than 10.
I'm sorry but there's just a huge difference in talent between a RB who is a 2nd rd pick and one who went undrafted no matter how good he looked in college. I loved DWalker, but I can't see a coach starting him over Julius Jones. The talent gap is too big.
Over Julius Jones?
Getting drafted isn't always an indicator of skill level at the college level, sometimes it's what you're projected to do or it's a size thing. There are players with better stats than higher draft picks that go undrafted. Jones had a few more total TDs compared to Walker, but Walker actually had more combined yards overall and he only played 3 years. He was a workhorse that could run, catch, and his blocking wasn't bad. I can't say what other coaches would have done, but I'm fairly certain BK would have had Walker as RB1 because he was the more complete back. That's what he's done in the past: Tony Jones over Dexter, Josh Adams over Dexter, Cam frickin' McDaniel over GAIII (RIP) and Greg Bryant (RIP), Theo Riddick over Cierre Wood, the list goes on. I rest my case.
Jones was Parcells' top choice at RB. Tony Jones and Josh Adams don't make the case you think they do, Dexter wasn't seeing the field for other reasons. I just don't think you appreciate how much more dynamic Jones was than DWalker. It's not particularly close. In fact, you make a great case for DWalker to replace Jones on passing downs.
I'm just happy to have Kyren for at least one more year.
Yep, the young OL better be putting in the work because Kyren has a Heisman campaign to get ready for.
OL next year is going to be huge drop off IMO, there will be many many growing pains

I'm not ready to make the determination yet. I'll have to see what decisions are made. It'll be interesting to see how many from this group do indeed turn pro. If all 4 go, I could see a fairly significant drop off but for some reason I don't think that happens.
Especially if Banks returns to play LT. Assuming he can be good/healthy, Patterson returns, and then we should remember that Lugg and Gibbons have started games too. It'd be a better situation than 2018 where basically the only returning starters were Bars for a few games and the rotation of Kraemer and Hainsey.
