Kyren's a dog. Too bad we've deemed him too short and slow to play RB

Is he still too slow and short?

It is pretty funny, folks at 247 talk like this kid is Darren Sproles small. Even better, some guy compared him to Theo Riddick, and it was a bad thing because Theo was more of an APB. And that apparently doesn’t solve our “RB issue”. Apparently, he missed the part where Theo carried the ball 190 times his senior year.

It’s a pretty funny group over there.

I could give a shit about his height.
He doesn't look like a burner, but looks plenty effective and ran angry in a few of the highlights.

Anyone have his 40. Hudl only has his shuttle and vert.

What's an APB?

Is it a guy who is equally at home at RB or Slot/WR?

Is it any RB that is 5-9 and below?

Is it the label assigned by the rec industry when they feel a guy is too slight to be a workhorse RB?

Is it an ATH who doesn't play D?

All I know is, K-Will's 5-10/200 and headed away from Riddick mold and into the Tarean Folston/Darius Walker mold.

Speaking of Darius, here's one for Pitt week:

The pure definition of an APB is someone who isn't an every down back and isn't going to be counted on to carry the ball 20-30 times a game. They don't do one thing extremely well, but are pretty adept at toting the rock, staying in to block, catch passes coming out of the backfield and also line up in the slot on occasion. Basically all of those short guys the Pats have employed over the years.

I may have underestimated this kid. I wasn't high on him when I saw his junior film. Looked tiny and without the explosion to make up for it. Might have been wrong on the latter.

An all around, really good football player. I think him being "undersized" is being overstated. And I think this quickness is being underestimated. Very interested to see what he looks like against collegiate athletes in a few months.

So obviously I'm on record saying I may have underestimated him, but I disagree with the bolded. I've seen film and a dozen or so picture of him, and he's super tiny. I'd guess 5'7", maybe 5'8", and 180 LBs.

So you are saying that Kyren is lying when he says he’s at 200?

I guess if you’re going to lie, you might as well go big by adding 20 pounds.

Over listing heights and weights isn't new for recruits trying to get offers. It's certainly not new when they're under sized.

I'd imagine 90% of recruits "round up". That's why everyone is always surprised at the combine.

So to answer your question, lying is a strong word. But is he truthfully 200 LBs? Absolutely not IMO.

I don't want this to get twisted into I don't like him. I didn't, but coming her to admit I may have underestimated him. I'm glad he's on board and I'm excited to see what he can do here as a punter.

Well, I can sure as hell guarantee you this kid is much much much closer to 200 than 180. You're just making shit up.

Yeah, I disagree, and I would put my money on it.

But that's OK. Neither of us are his primary care physician so we're both guessing based on what we see.

That's my point, he's not. I'll bet all my vbucks that he EE's at or above 5'8 and 190 lbs. He's a thick kid, built a lot like Kareem Hunt.

Accept he's taller than Autry Denson and Autry was listed at 5'10. So let's say Autry lied by an inch or two, he's still taller than 5'8. I'd guess he's 5'9 190-195 when he arrives. Which is not even close to "super tiny".

You better watch yourself, Koon used to work at the Carnival as a weight guesser. He's going to take all your vbucks.

Why? Just curious because I'm pretty sure Golden Tate came in as a RB but was clearly just an athlete in a high school that uses guys were they see fit. Broad strokes brother...

Edit: We have him listed as a WR on here but he was definitly recruited as a RB by Charlie Weis

He was measured at 5'9.5" and 187 at The Opening way back on 4/2/17 as a Sophomore. I don't think that The Opening is known for padding measureables. Adding at least 8 pounds since then certainly seems reasonable. Also, pretty sure that he hasn't shrunk. Maybe he wears lifts.
