He was measured at 5'9.5" and 187 at The Opening way back on 4/2/17 as a Sophomore. I don't think that The Opening is known for padding measureables. Adding at least 8 pounds since then certainly seems reasonable. Also, pretty sure that he hasn't shrunk. Maybe he wears lifts.

So obviously I'm on record saying I may have underestimated him, but I disagree with the bolded. I've seen film and a dozen or so picture of him, and he's super tiny. I'd guess 5'7", maybe 5'8", and 180 LBs.

We didn't have to wear weights or shoe inserts when we got measured in high school... the coach just got creative with the roster sheet on his own.

Every offensive linemen was listed as an inch taller than they were (or two, if they were really short), and everyone was a lot fatter on the roster than they looked on film.


Back to Kyren:

The Opening is usually pretty spot-on with measurements, especially these days. That's why you see so many kids posting their SPARQ scores on Twitter when they have numbers they're proud of, but conveniently using their thumb to cover the 40 time or the height lol.

If Kyren measured at 5'9.5" and 187 with them a year ago, I'd say he's probably safely at 5'9", and probably a bit taller by now, and definitely heavier... unless he's been trying to cut weight, which would be preposterous.

This just proves my point that him being undersized is being overstated. You started at 5'7, maybe 5'8, to now saying under 5'9. You started off saying he was barely 180 lbs. For whatever reason, folks (like you) see this kid and see Darren Sproles and call him "super tiny". He's a long torso kid.

Very similar to Ja'Mion Franklin who is listed at 6'1. When most, I believe you included, thought he was much shorter than that. Not only that but he certainly didn't look out of place on the field. So even if Ja'Mion is 6', it didn't end up mattering at all. And again, back to my original point. Being undersized was once again overstated then as well.
