Think he was a modest disappointment this year, but still a good player. Doesnt seem like hes in most mock drafts, but that could have changed if he crushed the combine. Not many linebackers can move like this:

I'm not sure how you're a disappointment when you're #3 in Tackles and he's coming off the field often when we're running with a Nickel.

Rewatching the play the thing I'm coming away with is Bertrand probably cost Kiser a TD by not bothering to block the QB

Driskell doesn't want to see Kiser at Mike, but Ideally I would want Ausberry, Kiser, Sneed with Bowen backing up Will/Mike or a long shot would be Ausberry, Bowen, Sneed with Kiser rotating. What I don't want to see is Bowen/Kiser duo with Sneed still backing up. Sneed needs to start and Ausberry needs to play.

Sneed just hasn't clicked with anything other than pass rushing. I wouldn't be surprised if he is simply a specialist on passing downs.

Hopefully this means Golden will be returning. I doubt Kiser comes back for year 6 if there’s a new DC

So Kiser Bowen Sneed as starting lb’s??
We don’t play three lbs anymore hardly ever. But when we do I’d go with that. When the rover is out Kiser could play either Mike or Will in some form of rotation with Sneed at Will or with Bowen at Mike.

This is a huge return. Losing all your Linebacker snaps in 1 offseason is not good. Hopefully Kiser can mentor Bowen and KVA and hand the reins off to the youngins
This.
And if I could pick 1 of the 3 to come back, it would have been Jack.
JD a close 2nd, but I think Kiser has a slighly higher upside and has a little bit more versatility in position for training others / if someone underperforms he can fill holes.
And, he doesn't need as many snaps as what JD got in his spot. Kiser will be able to rotate more.

I'm not sure ND does this but what I'd like to see is Ausberry at rover when ND is in a 3 LB defense. Because Golden runs nickel most of the time, Sneed gets 2/3 snaps at Will and Kiser gets 1/3 at Will. Bowen gets 2/3 snaps at Mike and Kiser gets 1/3. That way guys are getting equal snaps, gaining experience, and Kiser can be on the field with all the young guys to help bring them along.

To coordinate a D and not really have to worry about recruiting sounds like a rare and good job for a 50 something

We'd be screwed. He's safety size and doesn't hold up well against blocks.
You are wrong. His best position in this defense is WILL lb. He actually has football instincts unlike Marist. And he will be able to scrape and make tackles in the whole.

You put your big body LB at Mike so Kiser with his speed and instincts can clean everything up.

I believe the latest II podcast said Golden is all in on ND and turned down the opportunity for HC gigs on college. Also said they are working on a contract extension with him.

Would be awesome if we could get lucky and have a Venables situation here. I'm not holding my breath on that, but it seems to happen elsewhere occasionally. It'd be nice if Golden just enjoyed his role enough to stay and crank out great defensive units for about 3 years longer than anyone predicted.

Kiser will not do well in the middle at all, he can't get off blocks, he gets swallowed up and pushed back. I get everyone's excited because someone's back but he had no where to go.
