I wasn't terribly impressed, while watching some of his games, this year. He's big, but his footwork is not great, and he doesn't have a good punch.

The two jewels of Hawaii's 2019 class are Tuitele and Vimahi. Everyone else is competing for #3. Tufono has flashes of greatness, but he disappeared at times, this year.

Vimahi is the best o-line prospect I've seen in years. He stands up pretty quickly and he can get into a habit of lunging... nothing that can't be coached out.

When Julius Buelow was asked about which schools have piqued his interest so far in his recruitment he said Notre Dame, then paused for a couple seconds and added Utah, Washington and UCLA. That has to be a sign that he likes the Irish a whole lot and he talked about the football tradition and the strong academics in South Bend as driving factors in his recruitment. He has a lot of family in Utah so the Utes will always be in it. Playing in Los Angeles could be something he wants so the Bruins will stay high on his list. And Washington has emerged as a Pac-12 power and that will be important. But Notre Dame does look strong right now for the massive Hawaii prospect.

Absolutely massive win to get him on campus this summer. Keeping fingers crossed he makes it and then returns for an OV in the fall!! He would be a big time addition, folks.

Considering we have 11 dudes on scholly next season, Kristofic & Olmstead committed, and Correll/Carroll are option A's to be added, I'd say absolutely. Because even if ND got all 4 of those dudes, why wouldn't they want to add a 6'7'' monster as a 16th dude (Quenton Nelson & Jimmy Byrne left this offseason & at least one OL leaves ND every offseason pretty much). Also, what happens if we don't land Correll? Who's the 4th dude they are going after? Wormley is almost buttoned up to PSU, Harry Miller is OSU all the way, Bryce Benhart I haven't heard anything about in a long time. I understand ND is OLine U, but after seeing the class they had last year, I don't think they should be passing on guys like Buelow, who was the last 6'7''+ guy on ND's Oline??

Yea I should have put italics. I know very well who the giant OL guy was, just wanted to make a point. Obviously I liked Harry Hiestand's idea of getting a ton of 6'5''+ guys to put on your offensive line and figuring out where they would fit in. He was basically trying to get as many NFL-potential players on the roster as possible and then he gave them masterful coaching to go along with it. I think the short-armed 6'3'' guys can work as well, but I like the idea of Notre Dame setting itself up with a lot of NFL prospects at a position and letting the results speak for themselves on the recruiting trail.

Good news about this recruitment is it's going to take a while. So we'll get some other decisions first and have a better feel for numbers/needs. A 5th OL becomes best player available, from the sounds of it.

Visits this week. Found this from the UW camp last weekend (Washington Husky Rising Stars Camp - Top Performers):

Buelow was beaten by the same move that Kalepo was and by the same defensive end, but he came back and locked things down. We didn't expect him to look at long and lean as he did, but Buelow has the frame to add another 20 or 30 pounds and he'll be a monster at left tackle, able to use his feet, reach and talent to mirror and shut down pass-rushers.
