He'd be a great addition to the class. And if we're able to get him in April, it'd give us the luxury to be patient with the other RB's for the 2nd spot.

Don't know what's inside this article other than Clemson offered on his visit, he was "blown away" (probably by the mini golf & excess they have down there), and has a Top 3 which I'm assuming is Clemson, ND, and Miami (maybe South Carolina in there but probs not).
Huh? Certainly not all bad, or even close.
We have huge visits coming up with top targets. That’s good news. We are in pole position with one of our top OT prospects after his visit, Kristofic. Could be over soon. We get 1 of our 2 top interior OL targets on campus again this weekend. David Bell is visiting. Had a some of our top LB targets on campus this week, that we seem squarely in the mix for. Good news from Hunter Henry’s camp. Rodas Johnson visiting. Jowon Briggs still very open and really likes ND. The month of April will bring probably 10+ top 250 defenders to campus. There’s more but no need to go over all of it.
RB couldn't be any further from the truth. They lead for Mellusi and APB Kyren Williams. They have Christon's full attention (thank goodness), there's a lot going on with Zach Charbonnet that we don't hear about because he's doesn't play the recruiting games by the rules and ND is in contact with John Bivens and that will go from 0-100 in 1 second if they pull the trigger.
QB seems directionless but they are evaluating and working back channels. It' not like the staff that brought in 13 guys for tryouts last year, all of a sudden doesn't have a plan a year later. They have a ton of options and have another Alter kid in Bazelak that could also go from 0-100 in a blink.
WR is gonna be tough after that haul last year. It's also not ass important because of either. Cornelius Johnson seems like a lean, John Metchie likes ND, & while a lot of top of the baord guys don't seem overly interested in ND, getting local guys like Eli Pancol, Tre Mosley, a hand full of other 3.5+ star recruits to jump on board shouldn't be tough. Watch of for Courtney Jackson from Pittsburgh, a 1900 yd receiver from Gateway. Add to this, the 2020 class for ND at WR is a lot like the '19 OL. There are very clear leans that ND is way out on front for. I knew the '19 OL class was going to be stellar, I feel the same way for the '20 WR class
The Safeties I covered above, get Ajavon and what ele do they really need? The roster is stacked with young players.
Last week, I tried to point out that there is something rotten in Denmark with respect to ND's recruiting this cycle. These were the responses I received.
Kristofic made a surprise visit to the Buckeyes last week. (Still ND is the heavy favorite)
David Bell won't even visit ND.
Hunter Henry gets CB'd to Stanford after his visit.
We are out of the running with all eight of the 2019 QBs we offered.
Mellusi commits to Clemson.
Cornelius Johnson sounds like a Stanford lean.
Metchie sounds like a PSU lean.
Ellison is heading to TCU. (Says who?)
Nana is 50-50 after his visit with Texas on deck. (Already been stated, but that's recruit speak.)
Joseph Anderson doesn't have the grades for ND. (How is that an issue with recruiting strategy?)
Also left out Carroll and Olmstead likely next, and Correll to follow.
Bottom Line: No one likes a poster who is relentlessly negative about ND. But its also annoying when posters here refuse to acknowledge that we're getting our asse$ handed to us by our competitors. Its clearly time to reevaluate what we're doing on the recruiting trail because the current strategy is not working.

It’s also equally annoying when posters conveniently leave out the positives that are going for us. Just landed a QB with offers from everyone. Probably lead for his 5 star OL cousin now. By the end of this week we’ll more than likely add another commitment (Olmstead) or two (Avajon). Carroll is OV’ing this weekend with ND in the lead. Wiltfong thinks we took the lead for Henrich. Everyone thinks we have a huge lead for Osita. We lead for Kyren Williams.
We are not getting our asses kicked at all. Those are highly recruited prospects that could have their pick of many programs.

Most of those are guys we knew ND led for. Longliveautrydenson pointed out recruits we have been squarely in it for or were the perceived leader....and we're not getting positive news about these guys. I definitely think that's cause for concern.
You have to close on guys you're supposed to get or lead for (mixed bag right now), but you also have to give yourself a better chance with a few of the other guys we're in the race for (which is a struggle right now it seems).

That comment might have some merit in 2014, but recruits now take official visits in April. Like it or not we're currently in the heart of recruiting season.

Not true at all. In season recruiting will still be more important.

Kristofic made a surprise visit to the Buckeyes last week.
- Doesn't matter. Only need 2 of 3 from Olmstead/Carroll/Kristofic. That being said, who leads?
---
Hunter Henry gets CB'd to Stanford after his visit.
- Another who cares for me. Can't believe it ever turned into a thing in the first place. Rae or Wolfe would be nice. Roster doesn't require a star this cycle.
---
We are out of the running with all eight of the 2019 QBs we offered.
- More who cares. The second ND offers Bachmeier, Cruz, Bazelak they lead. Seems like they like Wiscy's Mertz... who's a former Bishop Miege kid so they have traction with him. Seems like a poorly kept secret that Rees is back channeling him.
---
Mellusi commits to Clemson.
- Bummer but it' early, ND is closer to some '19 RB's than is public and there are SO many talented guys they can instantly jump to the head of the line with like Bivens and Garwo.
Kyren Williams was a solid lean at last report so there's one down.
---
WR is disappointing but after last year, ya don't need much to make a solid class. Tons of guys ND could jump to the head of the line for.
David Bell won't even visit ND.
- Who cares, wasn't signing with ND under any circumstance.
Cornelius Johnson sounds like a Stanford lean.
- As soon ass they offer, I think you're right. Who knows?
Metchie sounds like a PSU lean.
- He should be, they've been on him since day one and they are much closer for him to frequently visit. ND could have done more from the beginning I'll admit. His Opening performance last weekend knocked him down a notch for me. 4.65 is not what I was expecting.
---
DE is the lone position that ND really needs to get their sh!t together and significantly expand their boards on both sides of the line. There are 10 guy who I think are in Ellison's tier that ND hasn't offered. I'm not worried where they are at, I'm worried they could pull another O'Rourke/Waggoner this cycle and let some good regional prospect go elsewhere without getting a hard look in South Bend.
Ellison is heading to TCU.
- Personally VERY disappointed here. Once again, there is SO much talent they haven't even scratched the surface of.
Nana is 50-50 after his visit with Texas on deck.
- Would have rather had Ellison. Still in it though. We'll see.
Joseph Anderson doesn't have the grades for ND.
- Can't do nothing about that. They knew it all along and have been handing out SDE offers like candy.
Once again

Overreaction.
ND SHOULD get it's azz handed to em. It' the nature of their model. They don't have a home territory, They sit smack in the middle of a rival conference's footprint. They go into every recruitment as the "other school" and THEN they have to worry about getting the RIGHT kid, with the right grades, to leave there home area, (many of which are warm/mild weather locales) and head to South Bend... instead of the easy path at a public football factory who may have won an NC in the past 3 years. And once they find the right kid willing to leave the home market... they have to battle Stanford's better weather and #1 P5 diploma all the way to NSD.
...and that's the reason ND needs to offer more. In the end, they are going to get more NO's than other schools... at the same time being included in as many Recruit's Top 5's as any of the Top 10 programs. That frustrates recruiting fans.
Gotta let them NO's roll off your back. Every no they get from a 5* WR is one step closer to them finding their next Will Fuller.
Lol, that’s ridiculous. So the staff doesn’t get any credit for the guys I mentioned being interested in ND. Get it, makes complete sense.
Lucky, love you brother, but almost only counts in horseshoes and atom bombs. The staff getting interest from recruits is nice and such. But the product on the field is what counts. So a bunch of near misses is still a miss and leaves a gap from being a championship team.
