I get your point but milroe didn’t play vs usf, for disciplinary reasons, he would have played much better due to hiss elite athleticism alone

ah rats. that's right. it was tb and simmons, or w/e his name is. yeah, going back and looking at how the ncstate game developed, could prolly add that game to the list. just trying to guess how different the offense would be going through buchner. he's like milroe lite.

i guess we could say hartman gave us +2 in the win column at most, which is a big deal. we're pissed cause we prolly go 9-3 now, we woulda been happy with that if tb was the qb.

EDIT

a possible ten win season this year is still better than a big step back. our expectations weren't met, but that's a lot different than possibly going 7-6/8-5. i think our ceiling with tb woulda been 9-3. maybe 10-2 with luck, but the expectations would've been different.

No doubt, last year I think we’re 6-6 with Buchner all year

No one was higher on Buchner than me when he committed … all downhill from there

Sam’s best bet you is to pad the good will he has with ND folk and leverage that into a big $ future doing what ever (after a couple of years on NFL teams).
It would be a good look for him to be seen doing what he can to hand over to the younger QBs. Start against Wake but plan to come out and give Angeli/Minchey three quarters.

Per Twitter, Sam Hartman was reportedly practicing with intent to play in the bowl game but then after we got a crap bowl he decided to shut it down and prepare for the draft. Cool.

Here's the Tweet:

And before people get upset about the source, this guy had the Flores and Braylon James transfer news before anyone else.

I think he is 1 TD away from becoming 3rd all time in TDs right? I get the feeling he will play...

I'm not sure I believe it had to do with the bowl game. I would bet it had to do with other bowl opt outs and transfers. Pretty unrealistic to to expect him to play with the amount of expected defections we'll have. I guess we'll see.

I think that's the right decision. The dude has played 60 games in his career already. What else is there to show that he hasn't already. The tape is what it is, and no bowl game - no matter how well he plays - is going to change scouts' perception of him. There's no reward to playing, only risk. Time to focus on the combine and draft process.

I also prefer he doesn't play, because I'm excited to see what we have in either Angeli or Minchey.

How impressive is that record when he played one more year due to COVID than all the others on that list?
He's only played 3 more games than the guy in first and 7 more than the guy in second. Kinda have to play a lot of games to achieve these types of records.

I'm good with Hartman not playing. While our O Coordinator situation is what it is, I was still not impressed with Hartman for most of the second half of the season. His weakeness became glaring at times.

I am glad to give Angeli the shot to start, learn, build confidence, and hopefully keep him in the fold.

The reason to play is not so much draft tape or some asterisked record, I suspect, as it would be the one more chance to lead a team on the field for a guy who seems to really love the game and probably will never be a QB1 again.

But yeah with both tackles skipping and half the WRs gone, that may well not be worth the risk or nearly as much fun. Sucks.

No he didn’t.
He was just the first to release it without permission.
That’s what he & that other dude does, they both steal info, then release it without permission while the legit sources honor their promise to keep it quiet.

So?

The point is that his information is correct.
