Head phones are not a big deal. Shoes happen at every school. Are us ND fans are so desperate to know ND is in the game we fawn over a few hundred bucks per player?

If Sam got $500K from Beats, holler. Otherwise categorize this in the "pretty cool gesture" bucket. Any major NIL factory would laugh if we floated this at the top as our "see we NIL too!".

It's cool - nothing more. The Houston Freaking Cougars have like two separate, $1M per year deals and they're a basketball team. Again, it's cool but let's not make it more than it is, we look naive.

It's good that ND is advertising this though. It's a good message.

Hey Bub, you know who got a Beats deal last year and gave his teammates headphones? Caleb Williams. You're taking this "pretty cool gesture" as some personal afront, not as someone who thinks it's a "pretty cool gesture".

Imagine twisting a video of a group of players being happy to get a set of nice headphones from their teammate into whatever this post is supposed to mean. It's like turning down a free lunch because your boss didn't get a bigger bonus.

Lucci's comment was another in a string of his passive aggressive shots at me. If Lucci doesn't take another passive shot, this wouldn't draw my attention.

I think you're missing that context.

Unless you have a link to another site, On3’s NIL valuations are meaningless and just a formula based off productivity and social media presence.

I agree that On3 evaluations early on are guesses. For ex, when you're a Sr in High school and the #1 WR, they just have a bracket they put you in.

But once the deals/sponsors are known, IMO there's much more credence and specificity.

I hope Sam is already at the top of the list. And he could be, but I haven't seen squat about him, his terms, or anything like that. And it seems just assumed he's "making millions".

I hope it's true not only for him but for what it means for ND in the transfer portal going forward. I'm just not convinced, personally.

I don't know and I don't really care if Sam Hartman giving everybody Beats headphones is actually a big deal or just some lame social media flex. I don't know how to compare Hartman's NIL deals with Caleb Williams' - which I'm sure are ample - since none of this is public as business deals between private parties rarely are.

I do know that some people around here lately just seem to like to piss all over everything, and it's tiresome.

Ok, so unless it is public information you'll believe that the number is insignificant? Freeman's salary isn't public information, are we to believe that he left significant money on the table to go to ND over LSU in 2021?

How many established players have left ND for NIL at another school vs name brand transfers have come to ND?

The link didn't help his case. It confirmed what you said in response to Lberry's, "Caleb Williams signed a $2.6M NIL that is public," claim.

Williams has no $2.6M NIL deal that is public. That number is On3's valuation number. It's not an actual verifiable number. LBerry is either confused about how On3 comes up with their NIL valuation or he falsely believes the number is more accurate once a player is established. It isn't. In the link provided, there is yet another link to the Neutrogena deal Williams signed. The article states the terms of that deal aren't public. The article goes on to say that the $2.6M number is On3's valuation which is based on "performance, influence and exposure." It then says, point blank, that their NIL valuation is NOT a tracker of NIL deals. Instead, it tries to show the optimized NIL opportunities a player could have into the future. It's their version of an educated guess.

But it is a guess based on optimizing and future casting. That's it.
