According to Sampson, based on what he's heard, ND has about a 1% chance here. Despite parents who graduated from Harvard this decision is not an academic one. Pretty much Penn St. or OSU.

So you are saying we have a chance?

YES!!!!

Cheers

That's comforting considering a source told ISD, the Irish had a better shot here than with Booker...

Attending the OSU / OU game Saturday.

So is Micah Parsons.

OSU and PSU fighting over the same guys.

Someone will be pulling splinters till they're 20... or longer.

This kid wants to go to a football factory.

His parents want him to get a good education (they love ND).

He will end up at a football factory..... OSU if he is a take later on, PSU if OSU runs out of room.

Is PSU even more of a football factory than ND right now? I guess reality doesn't matter, and it's the kid's perception that does. But still.

Huh?
Not sure who generates more NFL players. Probably Notre Dame lately. But when people refer to a "football factory," schools that make you live in dorms, go to class and take real majors are usually not what they're talking about.

I agree, it seems as though the term "football factory" has been used so much when talking about the elite programs that it's become synonymous with those programs and those programs only. I think bigger picture it has to do with what is important at said school. Do you go there to play football and that's it. Or do you go there to be a student athlete. Bascially, I think most schools these days are football factories.

Still not hinting as to any plan to visit ND.

If Wiltfong is right about Parsons and Nebraska there is basically 0% chance he could end up Irish. ND needed OSU and PSU to either fill up to where Oweh saw ND as his best opportunity on the field.

"Everything's still the same," he added. "Ohio State and Penn State are one and two with Notre Dame three."

Although, he did take an unofficial visit to South Bend in July, one has to wonder just how much in the mix the Fighting Irish are as Oweh has yet to schedule his official visit there.

"I haven't set that up yet," he said.

I was certain we decided, as fans, that we are moving on from this recruitment

I agree and did. I unsubscribed to this thread. But I still thought ND should be working hard on this kid because of need and the #'s situation he's in at the schools ahead for him.

As much as I think Oweh wants to be at OSU and or PSU, we still have to remember it's an ego driven recruitment. If those situations ever got to a point (in his head) that he's the 3rd DE option in his own class and he gets the picture he's a project to them while the others (like Cox, Parsons, Smith, etc) are expected to be on the field first, he could have a light go off that said, being the star DE of ND's class next to one of the top DT's in the country is a much better situation and more prestigious than the other situations. Sorta like if Griffith and Gervin surprised us by circling back and committing after thinking the grass was greener elsewhere.

If Wiltfong is right and Parsons is not taking one of those spots, there's .001%.

So he's dead to me until he announces his OV to SC.
