I think there's no doubt he and Claypool could. They are both over 225 lbs right now. Claypool is gaining momentum at WR but Boykin has to worry about Austin, maybe _ _ _ coming in, Boykin 2.0 (Micah Jones), Jafar Armstrong... and if the staff can somehow stop doing whatever they did to Von McKinley and let him be Von McKinley, everyone will be the other option. Boykin stepping in to be the Flex would be great.

I guess my question is actually would transitioning Boykin be the best decision for him or just the team?

At this moment in time....I can't see how Alize enters the draft....meaning ND will have a glut of TE's next year.

I don't know about a glut They have 3 guaranteed. Kmet, Wright, Takacs.

I think Mack is 99% coming back but he could leave.

Weishar is GS or GT eligible. That could go either way.

Those guys actually had some production before they left. Mack hasn't produced shit.

After his 6 catch game vs. UNC, Alize's now the leading receiver (receptions) on the team.

...and I still feel just like you.

Tremble is still a high priority for ND. If Mack stays (at this point likely) then Weishar isn't asked back for a 5th year. Then again Mack could blow up in the 2nd half of year and things change for him.

I love how 99.9% of people are so sure that Alize Mack is gone after this year. I think Mack has a lot of potential, but 17 catches for 154 yards this year and 30 catches for 344 yards in his career would not get me excited as a GM. He hasn't had a break out year like Rudolph or Eifert...kid needs to stay next year and be our #1 TE.

I would take Blake Mack out of Arkansas State and Adam Breneman out of UMass before Alize.

Right now I don't see Alize going pro.

He has to make plays and he hasn’t. Yet.

Mack should have caught that wheel route yesterday albeit it tough

Anyway, back to t Tremble

I missed this the yesterday:

Sampson threw up a CB for the Irish. So did the Vandy analyst.

I wonder if he has to wait to see how ASB, Poo Poo and the possible 6 DB class turns out?

ND's recruiting like an SEC team circa 2011.

Yeah he could become a victim of numbers. Also we thought Mack was destined for NFL but that seems highly unlikely.

If both Mack and Weishar are back next year, I don't see how we have room for him. With us actually being up against the scholarship limit, is it really best to use one on a 6th TE.

I don't see Weishar coming back or asked back. You'll have Mack and sophomores Kmet and Wright who will be more than capable by next season to have the full faith in the staff to perform.

This.

Plus the guy doesnt seem to be burning to go to ND. Surely Mich is in his ear talking about TE depth, which they should be.

I think ND has a wealth of riches at TE. Mack isnt going anywhere. This year he hasnt impressed anyone.

Use the slot for a position of more need like CB.

Mack needs to come back next year. At best he is a 5th round draft pick or an undrafted pick.

I am 50/50 with Tremble coming to ND...do they really need him?

Supposedly he's listening to Michigan's pitch of maybe playing D End. I'd bring him in with that kinda flexibility.

So he’s taking an unofficial? He’s visiting ND for the 100th time and this time it’s on his own dime, when he could take an OV somewhere else for free. I’d say things are looking good for us.
