Yes. They offered recently. Like within the last month or so. Which may or may not slow his process down depending on if he decides to give them a serious look. I believe that's what Dublin was getting at.

I feel like every year, there is a group of almost-commits that are all attending some camp, be it the Opening or an All American game, and they are all decently-rated guys, and we always hope that they decide to all commit to create a buzz...

And then we get like one verbal if we're lucky.

Irish Invasion's have had some situations like you bring up but not on the level of this year's Opening Finals, this is really different.

Jam Franklin was/still is(?) scheduled to announce on July 1st. He will now be at the Finals on that date, Takacs has said he is getting close to deciding and all the talking heads are pointing to ND (more on that in his thread today), Austin is widely thought to have ND out front, some thought Houston was going to commit at II but got the late, At Large Bid to the Opening so he's not coming to II now, Jack Lamb will be fresh off his ND visit a week or two before the Opening and it sounds like they want to wrap up the process sooner than later once all the players have been examined - ND being the last one since Stanford is not making a move...

There's five guys who could pull the trigger. Why not engineer a movement? Take advantage of the situation and grab the press.

ND will have 3 Commits there (Allen, Big Ade and OO), the Leans I mentioned above, 6 more guys who have visited and ND is the mix for (ASB, Cota, Ruckert, Tyreke Smith, Ojulari and I guess PJ Mustipher if that's still a ting at all)

That's not even the end of it. I think ND could get Christian Morgan, Dante Stills and Emil Ekiyor to commit if they offered. There's few more guys who will probably OV this fall. There is a lot of friendlies at this event.

What's going on with his recruitment? For someone that is highly coveted by the staff, the recruiting services don't talk about this guy often. With Lenzy no longer in the picture, Mr. Kevin Austin has become that much more important. Is he taking OVs? I don't even know who is in his top 4 besides Notre Dame. I'd like to get him in the fold before the season starts. I know he is a complete 180 in terms of what kind of receiver he is compared to Lenzy. But, to tell you the truth, big and physics receivers like Kevin, Austen, Boykin, ESB are my favorite. I'll take a guy who is physical and runs good routes over a speed demon.

Edit: Unless we shit our pants again this season, I like our chances against Duke, Vols, and Miami

He visited for the B&G game on April 22nd and hasn't made any other visits since then. We sent Chip Long and Denson to his Spring game in the middle of May. Doesn't sound like there are any visits being lined up.

ADAM GORNEY (National/West): I thought most of the wide receiver group was physically dominant and many of them looked like they could be playing college football right now. Not only did they have excellent size but many of them including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kevin Austin, Brennan Eagles, Terrace Marshall, Al'Vonte Woodard and Devonta Jason especially were jacked up and just looked great. Probably no one looked better than Austin, who's all of 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds and looked like a special recruit in the making.
