When I first saw Austin's film I immediately noted that he is an NFL WR. Andre Johnson and Terrel Owens type WR.

This guy's going to be open a lot in CFB. Pair him with a real QB and that's a nightmare.

I'd say there is about a 10% chance that ASB goes to Notre Dame. I wouldn't be mad about that at all if we land Kevin Austin. I really think he can be the best big, possession receiver we've had since Floyd. He's a very close to being a MUST get.

I think the combination of:

1) the low EARLY ranking

2) wanting a small, burner--like Braden Lenny-- to replace Will Fuller, since we have bigger guys on the roster now

3) Javon McKinley not lighting the world on fire (yet) for various reasons

... is making some sleep on this kid. He's a monster.

He reminds me of DeVaris Daniels after his freshman year (DD played QB in high school, and was not particularly focused)

Yeah Sampson is out at the Opening and said on the podcast when you see Austin with the other WR's he just looks different. Big and mature compared to other kids. Feels confident he lands at ND. I remember Prister commenting awhile back when he watched Austin's tape he thought he was grossly under rated by the services.

I think Prister thought he was worthy of top 100 discussion. Sampson said if ESPN were covering this as they had in the past he thinks Austin would have committed to ND at the event.

I don't think anyone is sleeping on Austin. I think the general consensus on this site is after ASB Austin is the next best WR. I've been saying for weeks/months he is Andre Johnson.
