Are the Texas teams something to be worried about here? I see he alerady has a tech offer, but what happens when UT, A&M, or OU come a hollerin'?
Also, not to be a dick, but why aren't we going after more elite talent considering our '16 QB isn't exactly elite?

probably b/c we think the 3 guys we have right now are really good and we need a glue guy like ian book who we know will stick around even if it means being a backup for four years?
just a thought
Koon relax bro...he is most likely going to be a top 100 player according to 247....he is LEGIT---also 247 expects if he comes into the fold that he will likely end up helping us bring in a few elite recruits because of him
I have no part in any of this, I never said he is/isn't elite. I'm clarifying what the OP was asking.
If you trust Sanford then you should trust this offer. Watched him throw in person, it doesn't get much clearer than that.

Only problem for me with this kid (other than his size) would be that he steps through with his throws, but he doesn't bring his chest through. It's kinda odd. It's almost like a fade away shot in basketball.
Anyways, this likely takes away a good bit of power and potentially some accuracy with his throws.
I did a little research on NC QBs since 2015. There was not a one under 6', only two at 6' (one of whom had the help of Tim Tebow), and the majority were around 6'3".
Just sayin. . . we could be the first!
I can definitely get on board with this. So good chance height is the only thing keeping this kid from getting more praise. That said, I remember us all saying the same shit about Golson coming out of high school. But with THAT said, Golson's issues were between the ears, so as long as this kid gets it, height be damned I guess. He plays against good competition and wins a lot of games. He does so by putting up some pretty impressive numbers. Has a lot of athleticism for a QB and would appear to be a great fit for ND's system. Severely underrated by the services, IMO. Strong enough arm to make all the throws and has nice feet while in the pocket. Something Kelly and staff place a lot of importance on. However, two things that stop me from getting too excited at the present. My two knocks would be height and throwing motion. Nothing that would stop me from bringing him on board but would stop him me from saying he's a elite.

Cedar Hill (Avery's HS) is playing Bishop Gorman next season. So a good chance that two of our 2017 guys play against each other.
