Phillips is higher on the board than Foster which bodes well for ND because Phillips likes ND more than Foster. Phillips is being recruited as a rush end but I love this kid at Mike to compete with Adams.

Foster really likes ND too.

ND leads for Phillips. ND does not lead for Foster.

Which doesn't directly relate to interest. If Foster were being recruited as hard and didn't have the test concern, ND would probably lead for Foster.

Phillips has been clear that ND was his leader even when ND cooled on him assuming he was headed to OU. He has reached out to the staff regularly and would "probably" have already committed to ND if his parents were more supportive of the idea.

Foster has never named ND his leader. If he were that interested in ND, he would put in the work needed for the grades. When ND cooled on him after II, Foster initiated contact with the staff exactly zero times.

I see a difference and it "directly relates to interest". If you dont, that's fine.

we have three great LB's in this class in the Mike and Will form that all look promising. What we don't have in this class is a Daelin Hayes, pass-rushing, hybrid type LB which we would get if we land this kid. Let's hope it happens!

CB from Loy. Said originally, family wasn't on board with ND, thought the academics might be too tough. But they're coming around now. Phillips is truly torn between OU/ND, but Loy thinks that having his parents see the presentation for the MSU game will be something that puts them ahead and wins the parents over completely.

Foster had some grade/test issues as well, although Loy said he expected it to not matter in the end and they'd get taken care of, but still. When in doubt take the guy without academic hurdles if all else equal.

Foster really likes ND too.

Just curious. Do you and Loy also shower together in the morning? lol

That doesn't mean ND isn't his #1. And he is putting in the work to get eligible for ND. Loy theorizes that he keeps how much he likes ND under wraps because he's shy about announcing ND as his leader when he's not sure he'll make it in.

I realize we're arguing about something that doesn't matter here. Is Phillips more likely headed to ND? Yes. Does that mean he likes ND more than Foster? It's not that black and white.

I don't get this. You're sharing good info from a subscription-based website and as a result, your sexuality is being questioned? Good lawd! Haha

You're a newby to this site judging by the number of posts. You'd get it if you had been on here for a year or two. Besides, Koon knows we love him. In a manly brother type of way of course.

My bet is that if Koon were to be hanging off of a cliff, Wooly would show up, save his life... and then smack him on the ass and say, "I bet you wish I were ol' Tom Loy, eh?"

I was totally joking. I know you guys like to give each other a hard time.

So small change from what at least I thought - ND has made it clear to Phillips that they plan to use him as a LB, not a rush end.

Joe would have gone for the granny shot instead of a dunk

Just as an update. Irish247 and others around the 247 network were previously hearing, as of 3-4 weeks ago, that ND had taken the lead over Oklahoma and the field. However, Bamaonline (247) posted an update 1-2 weeks back that stated they had started to really push for him and had taken the clear cut lead. Irish247 didn't confirm that report to be true and there were no quotes from Phillips. Its all "someone in his camp said", type of reporting. So it sounds like it will all come down to the OV's.

Phillips pretty much told Scout the same thing. OVs will decide it with his family and God.

Apparently they've been shot down as rumors but I'm not sure I believe that to be entirely true. However, his family, who didn't come on the visit with him, were initially against the idea of him going to ND. Because the academics would be too difficult. Reporters have since dispelled that as being taken out of context but I imagine there could be some, maybe small, truth to that. Hopefully Sargeant can work his magic with the family on his OV.

Per Anna, there is a long way to go but he may fall into NDs lap due to recruiting circumstances at the 4 schools he is considering. Believed to be Bama or ND right now

Much more likely that Saban and Kerry Cooks work their magic and convince him that the academic hurdles are significant.

If its circumstances at other schools, I bet he expands his list.

Bold prediction: Daelen Hayes is the guy this year, and someone like Phillips comes abaord because of it.

Cant see God being a factor if he chooses Bama which is football and women only type school. If faith is a factor, Bama is the opposite direction.

Alabama will be whatever you want it to be. You don't think they can make sure he rooms with a kid whose part of one of their MASSIVE student fellowships?
