Kid seems like he doesn't like the attention of all the people, maybe that bodes well for the Irish since the school is so much smaller than the others and will be a "normal" kid amongst his peers?

Apparently Bob Elliot went to the same HS as Martin and won a state championship there. Elliot's dad also was the AD at Iowa and there's a street named after him in Iowa City!

Sounds like Elliot couldn't be more Iowa royalty if he shat corn

Inside Oliver Martin's uneasy life at the top

Excellent, in-depth article on Oliver Martin

Watching that video - I think he will be a Hawkeye unfortunately. As a born and raised Iowan I find that unfortunate as Notre Dame is a great place to grow as a person and expand your horizons versus staying in your backyard with a homogenous peer group. Gut reaction in face of an overwhelming process would be to stay home IMO.

OSU just got a commit at wr...they will bow out now-imo

Urban just heard ND really wants him, so he threw an offer at him just to fuck with Kelly. Another lunch money opportunity.

Wrong shade of green. For both of them actually. Too bad things weren't different for Rocky Lombardi. If it was last year, maybe he's the QB ND takes and he gets to play at his namesake's alma mater.

Interesting snippet about Rocky's Dad, Tony... Chuck Martin coached under him at Eastern Michigan and Kerry Cooks played for him in the XFL.

Georgia has a great womens swimming program. They have several recent national titles and dominated the SEC since the late 1990s.

While I'll always respect the decision, if he's choosing a school, which I don't think he will, on swimming or a sister, then he's not the right kid for the spot.

This team, 100%, needs players that are completely bought in to the school and university.

With that said, I love Martin as a player. Big time guy, IMO. But ND needs some committed kids, to winning for the program. But, it's an holistic theme, that I have.

If he picks any school other than Iowa he was never the right guy.

I'm actually to the Alloway Point. Defined as: The moment on a timeline where one realizes it is psychologically advantageous that a once desired outcome does not happen.

This is actually well put. Because genuinely, recruiting for ND is completely different than most schools. As I mentioned in another thread, this isn't, and never will be, the same program, as those of other schools. So we have to make different decisions. Could we better with that, absolutely. But it doesn't mean you change the identity. You cherish and sell it, to those that can play.

Because there are sooooooo many of them.

I'm hoping a few of the late arrivals show some current boo birds here that there are HUNDREDS of .83-.88's who can flat out play.

Michael Owusu just got an SC offer tonight. Another one of those guys hiding in plain site. I'd take Harris first but he souldn't be far behind. He's a .8333.

I swear, if he goes to Florida......

Every podcast I hear and almost everything I read regarding ND recruiting like ND's chances. The new offers worry me a bit though. I'm fed up with getting too wrapped up in recruiting. I take in all the news and gossip but mostly just sit back and wait.

Iowa outlets don't seem to be taking ND very seriously as a competitor for Martin's services.

Hopefully that's just a sign that they don't have well-rounded info (or are willingly ignoring ND), but being Martin's home-state reporters, I don't get the warm-and-fuzzies.
