Hard to believe a team with Deon Jackson at RB, Trey Blount at WR and Andrew Thomas & Jamaree Salyer on the OL was only 6-5 playing in Class AAA which in GA is the equivalent of Div 4 out of 8 Div's.

He's also the former teammate of ND PWO Mick Assaf and current teammate of Mick's brother Sam. Sam's a LB and Lax player, might be an ND student athlete also.

I have to wonder if the 40 he ran for Duke in under 4.4 was legit. His best 40 at the Nike Regional - Atlanta was mid 4.6's His best posted time in the 100 was just 11.36. Not that it really matters but 4.3's jump off the screen at you.
That being said, I bet he'll play at 225 minimum. That's a load if he's in the 4.5's. His Sr. film doesn't show any ATL DB's catching him either so there's that.

This came out of nowhere and I'm digging it.

Sr. Film:

As happy as I am for this kid and I love the offer. I find it funny CJ shows up on campus and then we offer a RB. I know it has nothing to do with it but still ironic pointless thing I just thought of

You aren't the only one. I hope CJ knew it was possible they grab a value back at the end. Being on campus after EE-ing and THEN you find out they bring in someone else at your position would leave a mark.

Maybe Jackson's being brought in as an ATH? As a Jr he had some nice D stats.

As a FS had 50 tackles, 4 TFL, 1 SK, 3 INT's, 1 FR TD

Pace didn't post complete stats for this year's squad.

Pace Academy is right down the street from the Governor's Mansion and costs a pretty penny to attend. So while they have some college talent a lot of kids there are very average players. But 4 of their 5 losses came to really good teams. Two played each other for the AAA championship and one team played in the AAAA championship game. Pace also played and beat a good program in 7A division.

God I miss CJ Prosise, I remember when we landed him I'm like cool another 3* who we won't hear from until he's a senior. Now he's about to play a crucial role in his team advancing to the NFC championship game. What a time to be alive.

Folston is leaving although it isn't public yet... Will be soon...

Per someone with ties to program... Should be made public soon enough

Visit went well with Long, but the pitch was pretty much the same as everyone else. He doesn't have a set date on when he'll decide for sure, but he's going to follow his heart. In my opinion, Duke still leads.

Agreed. Reading between the lines, I get the vibe that mom was none too impressed with Notre Dame or the staff when they visited for II.

So we passed on the Simmons kid because depth chart was good right.

So why the persuit for this kid? position flexibility?

4 rb's on roster and CJ holmes coming in. do we need a 6th rb?

Did they know about Folston when they passed on Simmons?

I'm not sure whether Folston factored in here or not, most are saying that it did. On the surface, though I really like the player, I do agree, that we could use the scholarship at other spots and the thought process is similar to with Simmons.

However, what could be different, other than Folston leaving, could be Chip Long's offense. BK stated, that Chip likes to run 2 RB and 2 TE sets. So if this is true, and we are not going to see 1 ball dominate RB, with a 2nd guy getting some work, and a 3rd getting useless carries. Then it might make sense to have that added depth. That is really the only scenario where I think this makes sense from a numbers perspective.

I suppose I should've said 2 RB and/or 2 TE sets, not sure how much he's running 2 RB/2TE sets in the past. Honestly, I haven't taken the time to go over his previous offenses, or the offenses he's been associated with, mostly going off of what BK commented on and what would fit our recruiting class and this move.
