If he can play FS, I wouldn't mind putting him there. We have no problem finding SS's, but in the past 4 years, have signed two FS's: Redfield and Studstill. We can find WRs and RBs easier than true FS's.

Amari Carter is the SS you are looking for. Kid can thump but isn't great in coverage.

Last thing I want is another SS. Perry, DJ Morgan, Jalen Elliot, and some guys I'm missing are all SS candidates, but can't play FS. We need true FS's IMO.

If it were my team, CJ Holmes would be getting his first look on defense.

Yep. After this year, we have one FS on the roster. Sure we can move some SS's to FS, and we will have to because we've recruited true FS's so poorly, but they'll get toasted against the better teams we play. You can't have a make shift FS, especially if the rumors are true that we're going to more of a cover-1, over the top defensive look.

They are talking about playing Jalen Elliot at SS, I think that's more about gettin him and Studstill on the field at the same time. Kid is goin to be great in coverage when he's taught the nuances of the position. I would agree on the other guys but Elliot can definitely cover like a FS, heck even a CB.

Then I know he's needed there to backup Tranquill this year, but I hope he's cross training. Too bad Perry can't be Tranquill's full time back up in 2016 so Elliot can cross train. Or maybe he is, who knows. But I think you guys see the difference in roster for FS/SS.

I also think Vaughn is a FS candidate. Movement skills like a CB but size of a S. We have options, no need to throw this kid back there when he's going to be, arguably, one of the most explosive offensive players we sign in this class.

We need more explosiveness in the defensive backfield too.

I think Pride, Studstill, Elliot, and Crawford are all explosive players. Vaughn, Coleman, Love, and Perry are all good athletes.

I'd be with you guys most of the time, as I love recruiting for defense first. However, Holmes is already a good APB recruit. This isn't a Claypool situation, where has no idea how to play WR so he'll be learning a position for the first time, regardless. This kid is already a darn good RB, no reason to not bring him in as one.

For what its worth, he's probably going to see a bump in rankings at APB.

Also, we are going to sign a pretty good DB haul again this cycle. Robertson FS, Adebo CB/FS, etc. We'll have enough bodies, and plenty of athletes. He's the best APB we can sign this class.

Confirmed with 247 that he is announcing at the opening. I'd be shocked if it wasn't for ND.

This kid is a beast and would immediately become my favorite player in this class. He's an ELITE athlete and I trust the staff to put him in the right position.

July is going to be a big month for ND. Lots of good news coming.

Think he can rise more too with a nice showing at The Opening

I agree. However, I'm not sure he's going to need to do too much. Right now 247 has him as the 547th overall and 43rd best ATH. You could watch a few clips of him from II and see that's not even close to accurate. On a bad day, this kid is a top 200 ATH.

Wow, hard to believe that 247 is the one needing to get their act together on this one.

Just watched his film. Other than being a RB and a potential WR, I don't really see the comparison. He cuts better than Prosise. Can't tell who's faster because Prosise doesn't look like he's running fast but he is. I still wouldn't mind Holmes taking a shot at FS.

Glad to see the recruiting services give this kid some love. He's a talent for sure and should be rated as such. Really hope we land him. He's an athlete we can plug into as needed.

His stock is going to continue to go up as time passes. He has the potential to play WR, RB, CB, or Safety. Great athlete
