I really don't know.

But I seen nothing but electricity on that highlight film.

I mean, I was wrong about Heggie, mind you. Lol.

Mr. Inflexibility

(Hint : bend but don't break.)

Didn't see him as anything but a db. And no one could tell him otherwise.

(People will get real happy with Mike Elston as Recruiting Coordinator. He is the second upgrade in a row to that position.)

Wiltfong was on the Bucknuts Morning 5 today and commented on Eichenberg. Wiltfong said he believes ND has a pretty big lead and will commit to the Irish unless something drastic happens this weekend.

He did make a comment that the pOSU 247 site is the biggest in their network and that for him to flip his crystal ball away from pOSU to ND, he would have to have some very good info. He flipped his CB to the Irish because of what he believes is very good info.

Talk about Eichenberg starts at the :54 mark.

Seriously, what are the chances that ND steals two 5star, tops-in-the-state, OL out of Ohio the year after OSU wins the natty?

It looks like they're pretty good ;). Honestly though this will have to go down as just a tremendous job by HH if holds true. These guys just love to play for him.

My lord...Urbie is going to throw the kitchen sink at him this weekend. Hope Eichenberg has his BS-resistant suit on. I'll feel better after I hear something positive once he returns from the OSU visit.

Does everybody feel like he is more a 3* or 5*? I would say he's in the middle and a solid 4* prospect. Nothing watching his film screamed 5* to me.

I'd say 5*. He has NFL length and seems athletic with great feet for mirroring edge rushers. Mind you the only tape we have of him is as a sophomore. Reminds me of Luke Joeckel. Looks like a better prospect than Kraemer IMO.

If he does commit...It's a long way till February.

As always anything can and will happen in recruiting but this isn't one I worry about if we get the commitment. Eichenberg has already done extensive research and has been to both schools a lot. It really sounds like this decision is being made because there is nothing else he can get from the process. Most decommits come from a kid who didn't think it through, didn't have a chance to get to certain schools, etc. Again, I don't view this as one of those situations but you're right that its a long ways until February.

mid to high level 4 star for me. Lacks ideal height and length to put him at 5 star right now.

IMO he's in the 6'5 range which I wouldn't call ideal length for a OT. Good enough, yes but not ideal.

So he's a guard like Kraemer? Jordan being a tackle prospect? Bredson at RT?

Which is exactly where his 247 Composite places him.

He's listed as 6'6'' 290 on 247 and 6'5'' ~285 by the other three services. Unless his arms are unusually short, that sounds like "NFL length" to me.

Why?

Joe Thomas: 6'6"
Jason Peters: 6'4"
Trent Williams: 6'5"
Joe Staley: 6'5"
Tyron Smith: 6'5"
Ryan Clady: 6'6"
Duane Brown: 6'4"
Branden Albert: 6'5"
D'Brickashaw Ferguson: 6'6"

He's in high school and is currently within 1 inch (taller or shorter) than all of the NFL's best left tackles.

This has surely been hashed out before, but are the services rating the kid's pro potential or college potential?

Personally, Zach Martin is a great example of why I'd rather have a kid who is a great football player, though slightly short of the ideal, then a perfect specimen without the same discipline and skill.

Let me clarify I don't view 6'5 as ideal OT length. Ideal for me would be 6'6-6'7. Also, I think that Liam is 6'5 at best. I could see him coming on next fall at 6'4 1/2, he's not a super long kid. Again I love the prospect and think he's terrific but I still don't believe he has ideal length for OT.
