With the prior arrest and him being on probation......does he serve time because of this?

if he is on probation, one would think so. i don't wish incarceration on KS, but damn I don't know how else he will take stuff seriously. He was so blessed, and just kept shitting it away for completely stupid shit.

Extremely doubtful. If his probation officer violates him, which is most likely, he will then have to go through the whole court process again with an attorney. I would assume he would plea out again, start probation all over again and they would add a suspended sentence. Suspended sentence meaning if he messes up again while on probation he will have to do X amount of time in jail.

IIRC there was a pretty shady-looking dude somewhere down south on 31 that Max Redfield and the boys (including Stephenson) went to see on that ill-fated evening right before last season, too.

I’m old enough to remember when thy made a federal case out of Kim Dunbar. Skeezy country pot dealers seems worse than that.

Notre Dame should look into this and find out what is really going down. How are students from out of state getting sources out in the boondocks?

You get pinched for shoplifting a day after a weed, speeding, and unlicensed operation collar? After last year?? I have a hard time believing an ND student can be this stupid. What a shit show and waste of talent

I've actually been thinking about this. There are literally students on campus who sell. Why the hell are they going so far away to get their weed.

Not hard to imagine some people not getting it when you keep referring to them as kids. He's an adult, he can suffer consequences as one.

I hate to say this but Stepherson is the teams cancer and it is now time to cut ties with him. I hope for him he can get his life straightened out before it's too late. We all know that the kid is extremely talented on the field, but he has made poor decisions off the field. How many more chances can you give a kid? When he gets in trouble he's had other teammates with him. I'd like to say give him a chance to get his degree, but that would be a waste.

Good riddance to him and I hope he can get it together.

As many chances as it takes to make a man... so if that was his last chance with Notre Dame, hopefully a man will be made from the consequence. Maturity does not have a designated timeline. We enact laws to stress what is and isn’t accepted precisely because error is not an exempt clause for reaching a certain age. I trust the discretion of his coaches and teachers to either defend or let go of the fate of this young man, but issues like this are bigger than football. We aren’t privy to a life because of what we know on a message board, and the people who mentor Kevin are much more attuned to the dynamics of his life. Hopefully, a cut life on the big screen does not mean a cut life behind the scenes. Because it’s never too late to seek redemption, or else how many of us would be outcasted with all our errors, both public and private? Wishing the best for all involved.

Man, the degree of pointing a gun at his own foot this kid does is stunning. This is on the level of self-sabotage...guessing he doesn't have an issue with booze, or stealing, or weed...he has an issue with expectations and success.

IMO he still is a kid. 19 years old first time in his life away from his parents and has freedom. He is still a kid.

Maybe you were mature and had your life together and were a man at 19. But I sure as hell did not.

He used up that chit last August with his first arrest. He's completed 3 semesters at ND. It's long past time to put his big boy pants on. He's not facing juvy.

And how many arrests did it take for you to get your shit together, Sherm, ... one, two, three, four ... ?

Did you have a $200+K scholarship riding on your prior probation?

Stepherson's been charged 3 times in 16 months, twice in 2 days. He's a one man assault on the Fulmer Cup.

Smoking dope yeah that’s a kid and maybe even the stealing but driving without a license is idiotic. I don’t care if you are 16 or 60.

It’s pretty clear by his actions he is about himsself and only himself. Hopefully he learns from this second lesson and can correct it before he ends up in jail.

How do we know he didn’t get it on campus and take it with him for the drive down and back? He was back in Fulton County last week as part of his probation.

I hate to admit this but 3 times. The last time I was 22.

Morons.

Now if BK punts them both, how quick does it have to be done to reclaim the two scholarships? And do you think BK uses them this cycle or hold over for next (EE?)

I may still have a Christmas hangover, but am I reading that right?

Stepherson was arrested the day before on a drug charge during a traffic stop? How many arrests is he up to now?

Kid is just plain dumb. Obviously can’t cut it in any facet at ND other than on the field. How you throw away and opportunity like this is beyond me

Not defending him by any means, but wanted to address the bold.

They're kids and kids do stupid stuff all the time. A lot of it makes no sense to us at all, because we're looking at this from a different perspective. Ours is a more mature perspective that comes with age.

There are some younger folks on the board too ya know!
