Its great how he subtly posted that picture to the world out of humour not vanity...
Also, hardly any ink. I respect the heck out of that.

The real question, "What's the vertical after?"

So, how big of a season does he have? The way the sites talk about his Camp performance makes me think it’s going to be huge.

This is definitely one of those “believe it when I see it” cases as far as Chase being dominant throughout an entire season, but it feels like he’s finally getting to the level that I, and a lot of others, expected out of high school. Between his size, speed, and jumping ability, I was definitely in the camp of keeping him at WR and let him take advantage DB’s in multiple ways.

I guess I didn’t actually respond to your question... im hoping we get a 65 rec 1100 yds 12 TD type year. I think he has it in him especially with no Boykin on the other side, and 13 games of Book throwing to him.

Given how much everyone has gushed about him, even Prister, I'd put his range:

Yards: 1100-1400
Catches: 75-100
TDs: 11-18

It depends on how locked in he is on gameday. We know he was fully locked in during the offseason, hopefully that translates.

Which means Claypool should be drawing double coverage in many of our matchups.

I was thinking last night, ND has no physical bullies besides Claypool.

Maybe Aaron Banks? Okwara is a stud but not huge. Gilman is like 5'10", our LBs aren't scary at all.

After watching Georgia, where guys are just body slamming people or burrying them, it gave me some perspective.

Doesn't mean ND can't be a great team but we're far from physically imposing.

Okwara is being projected as a top 15 pick and you don't think he's imposing? Would it be better to have a bigger, slower DE? Our OL isn't big enough for you? I wouldn't classify any of our guys as small, outside of our slot WRs/some CBs.

I don't know how you can make that assessment when you've watched 1 Georgia game and 0 ND games. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts after tonight.

Eichenberg is a big dude, Hinish is a nasty player and JOK looks yoked. Weren't you saying similar things last year? How ND just didn't compare to other teams? Like Michigan? Maybe I'm misremembering.

Hard to find a more physically imposing WR in college. Can he not only big a big play/redzone guy but also a chain mover? That's what I think made Floyd stand above the rest.

Those catches in the clip are something else. Would not be denied stuff.

Can't wait to watch him.

Like I said, Okwara is a stud but not a physically imposing one. He's just incredibly fast with incredible bend. But he's our best player and I wouldn't describe him as physically imposing.

Our OL? Who was like 105th in advanced OL rushing metrics last year?

I'm hoping to be surprised tonight. Perhaps Eichenberg has becomes a mauler. Maybe Kramer too. Maybe Armstrong can be a power back.

Maybe JOK isn't just an athlete but also a thumper (no faith that Bilal does anything but disappoints, and White is a smaller LB).

Even our best CB is a really good cover guy, but I dont think he's worrying anyone in the run game. The other corners haven't shown much at all.

We'll see. Again you can be a great team without being physically imposing, but it sure helps.

When I watched Georgia, at times it felt like I was watching a WWF tryout. Dudes everywhere.

Okwara is more than just fast and flexible around the edge. Dude's incredibly strong. He is certainly imposing and not someone that any OL will look forward to playing against. If you mean intimidating by looks alone then maybe I could agree but Okwara is about as scary as it gets. Watch his bullrush if you think all he is is fast and bendy. He's got some serious power and Gilman might be small but guys don't want to go up for a jump ball with him back there either. Maybe you just mean intimidating to look at and if you do then maybe I agree to a certain extent but those guys are certainly imposing/scary players to go up against and opposing players know that.

Banks and Kraemer are also massive and supposedly Tommy is playing much better after dealing with an injury last year. Hope that's true because we need him to step up big.

Well, you’re contradicting yourself. You say Okwara is good but not imposing. Then the OL isn’t imposing because they aren’t very good.

I’d say Eich, Banks, and Kraemer look physically imposing.

Discussion in the Chase Claypool thread:

Q: How good is Claypool going to be this year??

A: Georgia is full of physically imposing bullies and ND is undersized.

Wut?

That's not fair. Koon gets to pick and choose what he means on a 'per case' basis. And he can always plays the negative card so he can come back after something negative: loss, poor performance, etc and say, "see, I told you we weren't that good".

I need to watch Georgia now because Koon said it was like watching the WWF/WWE tryout. They beat Vandy 30-6 and it must've been a colossal ass kicking.

It's not a contradiction. You can be good and not imposing. You can't be not good and imposing, no one would care.

There are guys on the sidelines that look opposing but if they don't show out on the field no one cares. Example, Bo Bauer. If he started and was a better player, I could see OL/RBs/TEs getting sick of playing him after ~60 snaps. But he won't be getting that time so it's a moot point.

Who are our guys that are both good and physically going to bully other teams? Who are teams going to get tired of dealing with? Who is going to bully teams in the 4th quarter?

I guess we'll see. I think Daelin Hayes could be one if he gets enough snaps. His bull rush is quietly powerful.

You are using the word imposing for physically large/built and aggressive. The word impose simply means to force something unwanted on someone. By definition, Okwara is the most imposing player on ND, by far. The dude is pure chaos.

I've been using the words "bullying" and "physically imposing".

Which the latter is like your definition, but physically.

I believe you understand what I mean either way.

To "physically impose" is to utilize physicality to force onto another. Physically imposing means our guys are able to impose their will on the other team physically.

Your definition is closer to physically intimidating, which I still don't get. Julian isn't yoked, but he's far from a twig and his power and athleticism more than make up for it. Kareem looks much like Clelin Ferrell did while at Clemson. Both are around the same size, give or take 5 pounds.

I also don't know many sights more physically intimidating than a large, angry Samoan defensive lineman bullrushing your interior.
