That must be strange for a QB to see a 6'5" LB across from him.

So, what does everybody think his best position is? I think OLB but he does seem to have very good ball skills. I just see huge potential for him at LB.

For fans north of the border, this years Irish Invasion could feature as many as five Canadians, as Notre Dame has extended invites to Chase Claypool (Abbotsford, BC), Daniel Joseph (Brampton, ON), Joshua Palmer (Brampton, ON), Jonathan Sutherland (Ottawa, ON) and Patrice Rene (Ottawa, ON).

Bound to have the language requirement sorted

said that Washington, Oregon and Michigan are his top three right now but that's only because those are the only schools he has visited. That list could change. Distance from home won't be a factor in Claypool's recruitment and he thinks he wants to commit by the end of the summer. You can expect him to take official visits this coming fal - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1774292#sthash.StVlUWWt.dpuf

• Abbotsford (B.C.) High receiver Chase Claypool was one of the many specimens on the field. College coaches could be heard talking about the 6-foot-5, 205-pound Claypool being a difference maker on the next level as a strong-side linebacker or defensive end. Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon and Washington are the top contenders

Loy hearing good things regarding him and ND, Claypool and his family are very focused on academics and what a Notre Dame degree can do

ND likes him at wr, lb, and potentially DE

He would make a great OLB with is size and speed

Agreed, reminds me a lot of Jaylon Smith playing RB in HS. He's such an exceptional athlete he can make it look easy but his highest upside is at OLB. I think he has NFL type OLB upside.

He has been compared to Anthony Barr

Apt comparison. Also reminds me of Christian French quite a bit. He seems a more natural athlete on the field though than French was.

Not to say you guys are over-blowing his ability but how does a guy who's 6 foot 5 inches with more athleticism than Christian French have a 3 star at best rating?

Like Wooly said...he's from Canada and doesn't play against good competition. He will shoot up the rankings before it's all said and done if he continues to camp and do well on the camp circuit.
