Notre Dame assistant coach Matt LaFleur offered Pittman and LaFleur already has a respected relationship in the Pittman household. Pittman’s father, Michael Sr., played running back in the NFL for 11 years and won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers and knows LaFleur quite well.
“Coach LaFleur offered me and we are working on building our relationship,” said Pittman. “He actually coached with my dad with the Washington Redskins. They are pretty familiar with each other, but I’m still getting to know him now.”

In the article it says that one of the factors was some of the jerseys and new stuff they will be wearing this year... Oregon has made their name on this

I guess it just amazes me that kids will really make the choice for the program they want to go to, the college they want to go to, based on something as stupid as Jersey combos..... Maybe I am showing my age but I guess this is why ND started their "Shamrock Jersey Uniforms"

I think the answer is people make all kinds of decisions without really knowing why so anything you can do to create a positive vibe is helpful to your cause.

I mean, is there a legitimate purpose furthered by having recruits pose for pictures in jerseys when they visit the locker room?

I said it years before ND got on the SS funky uniform train... it can ONLY hurt recruiting by not having these crazy unis that purists disdain so much... and I'm sure if the powers that be at ND were open about it they'd state clearly that is one of the main reasons for the yearly SS unis... the kids and recruits love them.

Anyone else catch the Oaks Christian / Bishop Amat game? Oaks got beat, but Pittman went off. This guy caught everything in the area. Think he ended up with like 300 yards and 4 or 5 TD's. He's going to be trouble for us if he sticks with SC!

Didn't realize he was the son of former Tampa Bay RB Michael Pittman.

The stud WR from Bishop Amat (Tyler Vaughns) also had a big game and is also USC bound. Ugh!
