No kidding; who is Dan Patrick to give Book "advice" on how to talk to scouts and coaches? I get he is a renowned journalist, one of the best in the biz, but that was asinine. And then he intentionally asks a trick question comparing Book and Trevor Lawrence both as "winners" and sites TL has a better record as a starter.

What was the point of that? To have Ian on, congratulate him on a tremendous season and career, but point out that he isn't equal to Trevor? Who does that?

Didn't think it was that bad. Not that I like DP or anything. Not sure if DP was sincerely trying to help him, or just pump himself (about the interview process). He did follow up that with some "nice" stuff. On the TL win stuff, Book caused that one.

I like Book mentioning Trask (and not others). Also, liked the mention of his pre-ND history. I still wonder what Book would have done in the air raid.

Non-grad degree seeking lol.. Irish studies....
Hard to be too snooty after hearing that.
Book ain't playing school this year.

I like it! Book likes to play with a chip on his shoulder. Disrespect Book, while patting Lawrence on the back. Make him feel secure going into Saturday. Doesn't mean I like the guy, Patrick can definitely be an ass, but I could see Ian using the interview as fuel. So...bring on the disrespect!

He is gone too as expected. I was not the biggest Ian Book fan. But he played his heart out with limited abilities. He did what he could and worked week in and we out for the team we all love.

Samesies. While I’m itching for a first round QB type, I loved so many things about Ian’s game as well as his intangibles. Also, he gave us some good years and some great games to remember.

Yep, all that can be said has been said about him. At the end of the day, I will look back on the Book era very fondly.

His performance Nov 7 is one of the best I have ever witnessed from an Irish qb.

Definitely rose above his station and gave more than was expected of him. Probably didn't receive as many death threats as Rees did, but he achieved more too. I would say he's definitely deserving.

The one that surprises me more is actually his height. I’m 6’ maybe a bit more and I met Book after a spring game a couple years back... He did not appear to be 6’ to me.

Saw comments on Twitter from people at the practices. Lot of glowing reviews of Ian. "Dropping dimes all week." Obviously he's not getting hit, but I imagine the receivers make a difference.

I have seen those also. But, I have also seen that his deeps balls have been very poor, dying in the air, wounded ducks. But, I think that's expected.
