You've summed up my position very well. Why would Soso or any running back looking for an opportunity to play in the NFL come to a school where you average less than 10 carries per game over the course of the season? For example, 5 carries one game, 15 carries the next game, and 3 carries the next game just doesn't look that appealing to a player who's been offered by another school that consistently produces running backs in the 1200 to 1500 yard per season range. High-quality running backs are looking for 20 to 25 carries per game. They won't get that in Kelly's offense.

FWIW...

Notre Dame running back carries- 248 (65.4% of all rushes)

UCLA running back carries- 266 (59.2% of all rushes)

The Bruins--arguably a more 'sandlot' offense than Notre Dame--average 3.9 more rushes per game than the Irish mostly due to Hundley running more than Golson and giving carries to a freaking linebacker.

Also, it's not 1981 anymore and it's highly debatable that any running back recruits are looking to carry the ball 20+ times a game. There are only 9 Power 5 running backs currently doing that this year, by the way.

One could argue a back would like a system where the carries are spread around. More playing time out of the gate, less wear and tear prior to the NFL, and you stay fresh.

Rivals bumped him to a 5 star, and the #17 Overall player in the country.

Well if he's considering UCLA, he's given up on his PG fantasy in the winter.

UCLA is the last school a PG looking for clock should consider. The current guy has a pretty solid relationship with the coach from what I've heard.

Oh well, we could feel this one turning from a few months ago. I really wanted him but time to move on and hope for other, less heralded prospects.

I think Jones could be better.

Not trying to call you out Im8. You are very much in the Know and bring A LOT of great info with you but this is what we always say and end up disappointed in the long run.

Have you watched Jones' tape?

If we miss out on both guys, then I will be disappointed. But I think anyone who watches Jones' highlights and doesn't think he is an great RB prospect is crazy.
