Really, really like this offer. Hopefully we can get him on campus for a visit.

Only two things come out of Texas: steers, and highly reliable underrated football recruits. Do want.

YES. I love big physical corners. It looks like we got in pretty early on this one as well

Kid's what, 16? If he's 6'2" now isn't it likely he ends up too tall to play CB?

I want 6'5 corners that run 4'4 forties.

Now comes the ongoing debate, based on anecdotes, of how tall a kid will be.

Can I nip this in the bud now?

If gets much taller, yes, he may be too tall to play CB. BUT...he may not. Also, he may be done growing. BUT...he may not be.

Looks like he just got a offer from A&M, which was big for him.

6'2" good...6'3" too tall but OK for Safety.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not arguing with the offer, I'm just a bit skeptical that the agencies project him as a CB.

I think your skepticism should basically be in any reported height/weight/speed from any service or camp not named the NFL Combine.

I think TAMU bombs next year w/o Manziel. Hopefully Strong starts with a hiccup so we can continue to raid Texas.

I doubt they'll bomb. A lot of Manziel's success is due to Sumlin's system, and that's not going anywhere. But without a Heisman-caliber QB, they should take a significant step backward. And I think Sumlin knows it. That's why he begged Haden for the USC job.

Texas is tough to predict. I was surprised that Strong didn't get more of a "new coach at a big school" bump in recruiting this year. But that program has some serious dysfunction which may take a while to fix. It'd be really nice if the local teams were down for a bit so we could establish a foothold in Texas.

Here is my take on it. I agree with you that A&M will be able to put up 30+ a game with Sumlin. JFF was able to win games for him this year because he was good enough to overcome a putrid defense. I personally sense that we are going to see a Mike Shermanesque T&M squad this year that is fun to watch, but is constantly on the losing end because they just can't get a stop.

Issue for TAMU is they lose their best WR and OL too. I mean look at Manziel's elusiveness and arm. They don't have a QB who can function at Manziel's level. They don't have a guy who can extend plays like manziel or drop 50 yard bombs into a WR in stride.

2014 Texas A&M Aggies Football Schedule

I see at most 8 wins here. Probably 6-7 wins.

So a receiver isn't too big at 6'3" but a CB is? Puleeezze. Can he stay with a receiver? If yes, then not too tall.

being 6'3 versus 5'11 doesn't make you slow. It's just there's probably 20 times as many 5'11 guys and quickness matters more than height. So there will be 20 times as many 5'11 guys with corner quickness as WRs. It's just you can be less quick as a WR and be able to do your job.

Basically I'm saying the lack of 6'3 guys means there'll be way less guys that tall with the speed/quickness to be corners.

Like the offer, wonder of his interest in ND.Houston is fertile ground for recruits, wish Irish would Shamrock there.
As for UT, they won't be down long. Strong is vowing to "lock down" in state recruiting. But Cooks has slowly made decent inroads where we desperately need to have a presence and pick 2 or 3 goods every year.

Adjust or die... The new priority is going to be these big DBs... at least for the time being.
