Huh? UCLA football is for the Hollywood types??? I've lived in the Chicagoland, Phoenix and LA metro areas and UCLA gets less TV time than ASU in Phoenix, SC in LA and ND or Northwestern in Chicago. The best comparison is the coverage of the Illini in Chicago. It's shocking how little UCLA gear I see out and about, hopefully they break it out for basketball season and support the Hoosier coached Bruins squad.

In contrast, the stands at ND look like the 80's Lakers compared to UCLA. On any given Saturday you can see Gerald Riggs, Phillip Daniels, Tori Hunter, George Atkinson, Chris Collinsworth, John Bon Jovi, David Robinson and now Lorenzo Fertitta... who if his son get's his way will have Snoop sitting next to him.

Who's he crappin?

Yea but they still get the royal treatment at the clubs and such in LA and have fun at a greater rate with much more attractive women then South Bend and Notre Dame. I think we will get Jones, but they definitely have more of a hollywood lifestyle

Justin Brent couldn't hear you because Lisa Ann's tongue was in his ear as he sat court-side in Madison Square Garden.

That's a really good point. I'm sure by "Hollywood type of person" Biggins was referring to the things Alize might want to do in his spare time, as ryno suggested, but still, it was worth pointing out that the number of celebrities and former athletes who send their kids to play for us, and our generally higher profile, make us the "Hollywood" school from a purely football perspective.

Justin Brent couldn't hear you because Lisa Ann's tongue was in his ear as he sat court-side in Madison Square Garden.

Haha what more is there to say.

Such a good point. ND is the Hollywood "all eyes on us" lifestyle in CFB.

UCLA isn't even the relevant team in their own town.

People make WAY too much of the power of college chicks, night life and what kind of city your school is located in. There are only so many girls you can get to and you are under the microscope when it comes to going out in public as an athlete.

I started out at Miami U, a school that many think has the best looking women in the country. When I transferred to Valpo, it wasn't much different as far as social life & women and the school is 1/5 the size. We were 45 minutes from the best clubs in Chicago and never went during the semester unless it was for a concert or a game. We could have all the fun and trouble we wanted without leaving campus in that sleepy little town. We would actually go over to South Bend to the Madison Ave Oyster Bar back in the day, that was a good place to pick up the 30 / 40 Somethings back when they were simply Old Broads and not MILF's, GILF's, Pumas, Cougars, Jaguars or Sabertooth's.

ND player's can't handle all the yang that's thrown at them and they get treated like kings by the school, the program, the locals, the media & Under Armour, they want for not except for some sunshine and warmth from Dec - Apr.

Respectfully, I completely disagree. That might have been your experience, and that's great, but not everyone thinks like you, and I can guarantee you that 18 year-old kids from the ghetto that never had much growing up think differently (generally speaking).

There have been plenty of kids that come up to ND from places like FL and CA and the South and are immediately turned off by the small-time feel and/or the lack of social life and plentiful women in comparison to the likes of USC, FSU and other Southern schools. Even a kid from Minnesota like Seantrell Henderson complained about how small ND/SB were, while he loved the nightlife and big city feel of USC and Miami.

Hell, did you see the quote from Max Redfield completely dissing ND girls and ND social life? His high school parties in Mission Viejo were probably bigger.

I've been to USC frat parties...with that many co-eds and cops that look the other way, they can be absolutely unreal. And the women on campus - holy crap. It's not even funny.

Now, ND women are way better-looking than they get credit for, the parties are fun, and the football players do just fine in the ladies dept as you said. And ND offers a ton of other things that most other schools just can't match. But for many football players in their late teens, those things do matter and there is no doubt places like Oxford and Athens and Los Angeles offer more in that dept than ND does...

I agree completely NDinL.A. Even as much as I dislike U$C (2nd to dUMb), they along with UCLA, ASU, San Diego St, UNLV, and Miami have women so hot, weather so pleasant, and beaches that I will push my boy to attend one of those universities just so I can visit him! Obviously if ND offers he would commit on the spot but there is a lot to be said for warm weather and beautiful women.

If only ND wasn't so loaded with good, quality people, degrees worth $100k+ per year, and 99% graduation rates for their athletes. That trumps all in the big picture.

As a guy living in Athens, I can't imagine turning it down as an 18 year old college kid

I didn't say they aren't a factor but I stand by statement that they are way over hyped. If they weren't San Diego St would be the 50x defending national champion.

LA / OC lives on the media coverage of Hollywood. Scottsdale / Tempe BLOOOOOOOWS this area away. I have been thoroughly disappointed by lack of beauty in South County except for Newport and Laguna and even those pale in comparison to Scottsdale.

I'm in Laguna but was just at Cismontane in RSM last night. South Co is not all what The Hills and Housewives would lead one to believe. Is it better than most places? Absolutely. But it isn't Scottsdale, not even close.

No like the Viet Coffee Shops. LOL

Cafe Lu - Santa Ana, CA | Yelp

Santa Ana? I thought the OC ended in Irvine... does for me at least!

The Asian angle isn't for me, they tend to like similar sized white boys in skinny jeans and Lucky doesn't make a 38-36 slim cut.

I'm not bagging on OC, but if you put it into car terms, it's a Maserati and Scottsdale / Paradise Valley / Tempe is a Ferrari.

Alize's Asian girlfriend while in Scottsdale stole a Maserati and drove it to Irvine where they went and had yogurt together and now Alize is wanted as an accessory after the fact and going to commit to ND where they will not extradite him for the crime.

Is this right?

BTW, I'm loving Crusader's aggressive stance in favor of the talent level in Scottsdale. From what I've seen, he's not wrong.

I agree that Scottsdale has a ton of talent (especially for people our age) but Mill avenue is damn near Heaven for a college aged man.

I think Scottsdale / PV peaks at the low 40's... Very nice 20 somethings, great 30 somethings but the available women in their low to mid 40's is unparalleled. The only way to tell a 32 and 44 year old apart in Scottsdale is the amount of cylinders their Mercedes has.

Scout: 2 team race, ND/UCLA. He is really starting to buy into the 40 yr decision pitch and TE U. He will OV to ND then make a decision closer to signing day.

UCLA hasn't offered any TE's since Jones committed to them a while back. However, that changed today as they extended an offer to Chris Clark who immediately put on twitter (shocker) that he'll OV to UCLA. I'd take this as a decent positive for ND.
