they just loaded more stats.

Dex was 1st in broad jump (130) and 6th in VJ (36).

So far, 8th (40), 1st (broad), and 6th (VJ) places out of about 30ish guys. While probably not what he wanted, it's not hurting him.

Was hoping Dex might surprise us with something in the 4.4-4.45 range. 4.5 is good but don't think it really affects his stock one way or another.

I guess we'll see what else happens but the 4.5 looks a heck of a lot better than 4.57/4.58. So obviously some relief there. But, yea, I agree that I think sub 4.5 was necessary to meaningfully move the needle up.

IDK, I think Dexter will be satisfied (not happy) with his 4.50. That's damn solid for a RB, and his football speed speaks for itself when you watch the film.

He's going to make more $ on his innate ability to stay low, cut on a dime, and find the hole without losing any speed, much more than his ability to break away in the NFL. He's not a break away guy in the NFL anyway. But I love him as an overall prospect and would be happy if the Packers got him.

Draftek had Dex at 18th. Only 5 RBs ran faster than him that were farther up the board.
I'd say Dex was either neutral or helped himself a bit.
Doubt we'll see Holyfield go in the top 10.

They just made the 40 times official, and Dex was not listed at 4.5.
They only showed the top 10 (he wasn't included), which ended at 5.2, so he's worse than that.

Damn, so that 4.57 was his official time. Bizarre they adjusted those numbers and then re-adjusted them back.

Impressive shuttle and broad jump, average on the 40.

Those sparq scores...…...

They were talking about the adjustments. Evidently they go back to vid and manually adjust. Then do some type of true up. Didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Some of those that they adjusted down, didn't get adjust back up.

So far, I think on average (of running, agility, and jumps) he's 5th out of all RBs.

That's a pretty good sparq

Thought Dex would run closer to 4.5. 4.57 of disappointing, but not the end of the world.

This just reminds me of how good an athlete CJ Prosise is. I believe he ran some where between 4.48-4.5.

His measurements on the agility drills, and jumping, should dispel some of the top end speed concerns. (I think he was ranked like 5th considering the speed/agility/jump drill average). And there are several backs projected ahead of him that ran slower or the same. Honestly I think he'll be fine. He's going to be a bargain for someone.

What I do scratch my head over, is the two scratches he had, and Mack had a scratch this AM too. Who is prepping these guys?

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/dexter-williams?id=32195749-4c03-6343-3624-9a83687bd3f7

Overview
Ascending every-down running back prospect who showed major flashes of becoming an NFL starter in his most active season to date. Williams runs with a good combination of feel, force and juice, which allows for a variety of methods in creating yards for himself. His evaluation could require additional character work and his relative lack of experience could mean a slower integration into an NFL offense; however, he offers exciting upside with the talent to become a productive, NFL starter.

Strengths
Possesses adequate NFL size with good flexibility
Stepped into bell-cow role with ease
Had four games with 140-plus yards and averaged a touchdown run every 12 carries
Understands block development and where lanes will originate
Adequate decisiveness as interior runner
Presses line of scrimmage to set blockers up for success
Loose hips to flow where his eyes take him
Processes traffic quickly to work away from peek-a-boo gap-fitters
Impressive acceleration
Mashes gas to win foot races to corner or hit the home run
Runs with square pads and drops heavy, pre-emptive blows on tacklers
Small career workload for fresh NFL legs
Ball security has been excellent in relatively limited work.

Weaknesses
Small sample size with limited tape against quality competition
Never more than 39 carries in a single season before 2018
Has an arrest (2016) and four-game suspension (2018) in his background
Slew-footed running style can affect balance through cuts
Needs to step in and square blitzers rather than defaulting to body rolls
Easier to upend in space because of narrow running base
Vision goes from good to average after he's past the line of scrimmage
Average elusiveness in open field

I think those scratches/false starts in the 40 yard dash have more to do with nerves than anything else.

maybe, but I never really took Dex for the nervous type. i'd like to know if whoever trained/prepped Dex, was the same as Mack (who also scratched).

"Peek a boo gap fitters" sounds like he is talking about Rashan Gary and those other Michigan pussies.

Pretty common, always has been since I've been watching the combine. Lots of guys do it because they want to get running as quickly as possible because they believe every .01 second counts.

I don't think anyone is attacking me, I have no hard feelings about this topic. I just think you guys are overstating how much his "lack" of hands/blocking are an issue, and how much they'll impact him in the NFL.

It's the difference of about ~1 round, MAYBE 2 IMO. There are 1st round talents that will get pushed back because they haven't shown they're complete, and guys that have moved up because they've shown they are.

And he's a 4th round RB if I had to guess way too early. He'll get drafted and he'll stick IMO.

He was not a fourth round pick and unfortunately, I am worried he won't be drafted at all.

Going to be a steal on the undrafted free agent list

As a Bears fan, I was never a huge ESB fan, so it doesn't bother me to not root for him.

But it's gonna be really tough to not root for Dex on Sundays. Anywhere but GB lol
