Also said out of Ucla, LSU, Oklahoma and Notre Dame, which one is most likely to run table and make playoff

It's just insane to me that after one week, Kizer is suddenly being touted as a potential #1 pick over Deshaun Watson by MANY NFL draft guys, and a lot of those guys are very respected.

All offseason, when people were posting future draft rankings, Kizer was ~10 on most of those QB lists, if he was on there at all. Meanwhile, many of us ND fans were shouting from the tops of mountains that Kizer is better than every QB on those lists, with the exception of Deshaun Watson (and there is even an argument that could be made there simply based on measurables).

And now, here we are, watching Kizer suddenly get all of the love in the national media. I don't know about some of you, but I feel almost vindicated haha.

It's also insane to see how things are working out now that BK has some semblance of continuity and true development at the QB position for the first time since he arrived at ND. Every year, something was holding the position back. But now that we've got an established guy returning and taking charge, BK suddenly has his first big-time draft prospect at the QB position... what a long strange trip it's been?

That's what I was saying in the post. We all saw it last year, and could see that Kizer has all of the tools and skills to be included as a prototypical NFL QB prospect, and yet nobody else seemed to see it, despite his success. He wasn't even included in most draft lists over the offseason.

But after one game on a night where everyone was able to tune in, they now see what ND fans saw last year.

His biggest downfall that I think he needs to work on is just throwing the ball away instead of taking a sack. Sometimes it's better to throw it in the stands then get hit. For BK, this situation worked out really well after limp dicking into the Texas game with an on going competition. Zaire had 17 snaps if I remember, and produced no TDs and 40 yards. Kizer, not sure how many snaps, but 6 total TDs and 215 yards passing, which isn't great, but when you take away 17 snaps that's pretty good.

IMO, he can close this book easily with no flack. No one will question why not Zaire anymore. I thought BK made a terrible decision, but he lucked out that Zaire was sub par whereas Kizer was exceptional.

If we're patting ourselves on the back, I joined Bogs and [others] when Kizer was RS'ing in joining the Overlooked-But-Still-Hype Train.

I couldn't find the exact post, but I tried telling you all that Kizer is a carbon-copy of Tony Pike at UC, except thicker and a true threat to run, rather than just escape.

Some of us knew. Some of us knew.

EDIT:

I'm still banking on Kizer being a super-stud based on early reviews about his arm-talent and command.

He has the size necessary to see the entire field and really be dangerous in the pocket, something that couldn't be said for Rees or Golson. If he grasps the mental side of things, he could be the Superman/ND version of Tony Pike.

Well, I can't remember when there has been a quarterback with more of the it factor.

• He brings the weapons. (Even if not fully developed.)
• He has the work ethic.
• He has the leadership skills(!).
• He has a personal dynamism that transcends the overly developed personal ego, or narcissism of most potential professional athletes.
• He has the focus and imagination to run the game in his head to improve, exponentially above just practice reps. (Maybe his most important skill.)

Under weapons, he is faster a better runner, and capable of extending plays with the best.

Under running the game in his head, this puts him in company with the greats, like Jim Brown, Joe Montana, etc. The greatest, all like Jim Brown said, used to play the game 100 times in their head before he stepped onto the field. DeShone has that.

DeShone said this team has taken an identity. I think that will develop and change a bit now that DK is the quarterback. Will be interesting to see. I bet these young players all of a sudden grow up pretty fast!

QBR takes into account everything (TD to INT ration included), which is why Kizer's QBR is so great... When I said 'it's not great', I'm talking specifically to the 215 passing yards. That doesn't blow my doors off, but his game was great, and if he played the whole thing we would have won. I'm saying nothing but positives about Kizer.

Their straight-line speed is probably very similar when they both get going. I think Zaire has better acceleration and can cut/juke better.

Just to settle it. DK is much faster. Much, much! Malik has more swivel to his hips, a lower center of gravity better acceleration, and much better stopping power. Thus one could say Malik is more elusive. As the camera, and eye sees it from a spectator standpoint.

But DeShone is flat out fast. Really fast. Some players miss him because they underestimate his speed.

The closest thing to proof I can give is to challenge any of you doubters to compare how many touchdowns DeShone has scored by running away from defenders, versus Malik.

First, thanks for the complement. But that is a very complex question, and I plead stupidity.

I don't know. I can see a thought-train, that is how they stop it in the Big12 and we have a bunch of good quarterbacks, mobile linemen, and big defenders.

But back to it, when the fuck is ND going to let kids get used to playing defense? I don't effing know!

And how could anyone miss the we had not a single safety with the combination of experience and foot speed?

This week I am more than usual; I am dumbfounded!
