Do we know which bone(s)? Assuming whatever it is, a standard break in the hand takes 6-8 weeks. Would love to see him be able to get a rest and a chance to heal through the bye if possible. If we need him, we need him, assuming he wants to play through it.

I thought I read somewhere it was one of the metacarpals. It stated no surgery required.....yet, but could worsen by continuing to injure it even in the cast.

Finger is best I guess, and if no surgery, assuming the joints are fine. Not sure why he'd be in a cast though instead of a splint. Any hand docs out there that can spew some facts>?

I would assume it would be just a splint if it was a finger, but given it's not he's probably in a cast to keep bone movement minimal? I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once. Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

LOL! Right there with you.

Getting old sucks. Medium to far is still grood, but reading has taken a dive the last 3-4 years. I use the IPAD a lot less these days, and spending more and more time with my 17in laptop. I built a PC with a 32in monitor for the moms a few years back, and laughed that I'd need to start doing the same.

Yup, I know. My old eyes misread it. My dad had a MC break years ago, and was in a big ass cast. It was a really bad break though. Wonder what DT's current cast looks like, and if they switch it up for game time.

Clearly had some trouble wrapping up last night. Gotta admire his toughness, though. He was still flying around making plays despite that. Any idea how long it will take for the hand to heal?

Depends what's broke and how it's broke. If it involves the scaphoid, could be a long time.

I doubt he'd be playing with a broken scaphoid. It knocked arnaz out for the season.

Once again, depends on the type of fracture. I had a stress fractured scaphoid on my off hand, was in a thumb cast and continued playing. Took forever to heal though.

They have said it is a metacarpal. These are the long bones in what people call the back of the hand. Usually heal in 4 - 6 weeks. Would only need surgery if really displaced or angulated. Surgery would most likely would be pins and couldn't play. They said didn't need surgery now - so if not displaced now and remains that way may not need surgery. "They said" refers to things in BK interviews/media reports. By 10 - 14 days should have a pretty good callous of bone built up and pain should decrease significantly. Probably will still need to be in a cast for at least 4 - 6 weeks. Later on, cast may be able to be made smaller.

That dude was pretty tough too, he played with it broken in that Nebraska game and we nearly won.

I think it was a sprain but he has already done all the rehab and is ready to play the second half. He just Tranquill'ed the hell out of it. He took a Tranquilliser.

In the game thread someone with insider sources said there was no break or ligament damage and that he was back on the sideline.

He’s an absolute animal. Hopefully back and ready. One of my favorites of all time. Kid is a stud at life.
