Don't know their reasoning other than to cash in on the larger gate it may draw. And I doubt DBP cares one way or the other. I love the fact that they will line up and play anyone, anywhere, anytime. And Coach Toal - if I spelled it right - is a tremendous football coach.

Yeah I think you are probably right on the gate idea. Sorry if I was a bit defensive before, I just feel like I have to defend my school a lot.

And yes, Coach Toal has much bigger things to worry about, including recovering from the loss to Mission Viejo out in Cali, playing Miami Central this weekend, and then the matchups against top 10 St. Joe's, top 100 Bergen Catholic, and the Jabril Pepper's led Paramus Catholic.

Could be a tough year for my guys.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not, and I had to look up Overtown (a Miami neighborhood) to understand what you meant, but recruiting amongst South Florida high schools is ramped. I have a good friend who is a HC in Miami and the stories he has told me are ridiculous.

Look at that Miami Northwestern team from a few years ago. I think Jacory Harris was the QB and they had like 12-13 kids go division 1. You think they all just happen to grow up in the same neighborhood?

I think that pretty much both powerhouse programs in Miami - Central and Northwestern - pretty much have all the talent locked up there. I wouldn't think a lot of outside players coming in but could be wrong. STA , although in Ft. Lauderdale... well, they are much like DBP.

Maybe... but he will have those guys back in no time. The schedule for them this year was insane to begin with. Isn't the former OC the HC at Bergen now?

Ramsey, New Jersey is located basically right on the NY/NJ border, and only 20 minutes or so away from the Tappan Zee Bridge into CT. A large section of the student population, independent of football, comes from NY with a few from CT. Half of my best friends from Bosco were from Suffern, Nyack, Blauvelt, etc. - all towns in NY.

I am not saying they don't target players from 7th and 8th grade to try and get them to come to DBP, but it's not like football has kids coming from out of state when the school doesn't.

Again, it has been segregated in terms of playoff system, and it is the public schools, not the private, pushing for a unified playoff system. If they truly thought it was unfair or they stood no chance, why would they push for it?
Name the former Notre Dame and Packer player from Nyack, NY who played for the Ironmen...

I don't know the distribution of talent, but all of the schools recruit the local youth football leagues. It's the wild west from what I've been told.

Northwestern, Miami Central, and Booker T are not attractive destinations for recruits like the programs at Aquinas, University, and the two American Heritages. Booker T and Central are like seven miles apart, and yes, their rosters consist of neighborhood kids. Overtown has an extraordinary youth football program called the Rattlers. In Overtown, football starts at ages nine and ten. It is this youth program that feeds players to the local high schools.

Yup, he is. Funny enough, he was actually my gym coach while he was an assistant coming up at Bosco. Now he is a big-time HS head coach at a program that has gotten significantly better since he got there.

Bo Scarbrough with 144 yards on 12 carries. 4 TDs total in his game last night.

Would anyone notice if the Gators suited him up against UT today on his visit? He is better than any rb they have right now.

Rivals has it for Oklahoma, and ISD has it for USC. I guess it's probably for USC, just curious as to why II has it differently. That was what I looked at when I posted.

Hopefully he's as confused about it as we are, and he just shows up both times.

Bo was hurt much of his junior year so that may be tough to get.

He has the best sophomore highlights I've ever seen, but he looks more like a WR then RB in that video. Interested to see how much he bulked up.

IMG may have some footage of him now. Rivals as well. What video I saw on tv from his game last week he looked like a man among boys. Almost scary how big he looked and the fact that he was running away from the defense with ease. He and Fournette from La look very similar on film.

Christian and Mike talked on Power Hour last week about the big Cali migration for the USC game and said many times that Mama will be part of it.

Bo is pretty much the same size as Julio Jones is right now.
