I don't recall Will suiting up as a CB or a safety.

But, I do know what you are saying. I also feel this team is missing the home run threat. EQ and CJ are really really good, but not home run threats yet. CJ is close and could turn into one soon.

I'm hoping Claypool becomes that home run threat this year though.

Just had a terrible drop that stalled a crucial drive. He's been incredible to start the year...imagine how good he'd be if he didn't have issues catching the ball.

I think the Texans are just going to have to live with the drops. It might improve a little bit. But, he will never be a sure handed receiver.

After watching highlights and reading the low ball comments. I thought I was seriously around some bright unadulterated minds that hoped for the best out of our children...

GEEZ.... I guess children have different views about how long It takes to grow up.

We'll have to live with the drops. He had 2 drops in this game, both would've been for 1st downs.

Below average hands, to be honest. And I seriously doubt he's ever going to get rid of that stigma. He may improve somewhat...but it's almost like speed. You either got it, or you don't. He's a total body catcher. Which kills him on stops/ins/outs and the like. On deep balls it's ok to make a bread basket, so to say.

I would agree there are natural pass catchers but you can significantly improve hands through repetition and improving concentration. Game reps will also help him out. An inexperienced player is constantly concentrating on their task and fundamentals slip. Will is a worker and committed to his craft. Once he has the offense down I would expect him to refine his route running and improve his hands.

Will has been pretty dang good this year and if he had two drops last night that's 3 drops in 32 targets or about 9% which puts him in the middle of the pack when it comes to drops. He'll improve his hands, he already has IMO.

But one was for a TD, and the other two for first downs. I'm just pointing out the big ones.

And I think he's actually had 5 drops total.

Yeah, he had 2 in the first game of the season, 1 last week and now 2 last night.

And he nearly dropped one (double catch) on the 2 yard line last week.

Ehhhh...I agree somewhat. Like 40 times. You may shave off a tenth, but I don't think you'll ever be elite.

Remember, he has never had to catch passes against NFL tight coverage. He's a bread basket pass catcher and those just don't happen too often at this level. So we really don't know HOW MUCH he'll improve.

He is definitely a worker. No doubt. And I love the addition to the hometown team. If we can deal with the occasional drop, he's a burner that can change a game with one catch.

We should know around this time next year.

Pierre Garcon drove Colts fans crazy. Throw the ball out of reach or 5 feet over his head and he makes brilliant catches. Throw it to him in the numbers and he drops it. Haven't paid attention to him since he went to the Redskins so I don't know if he's improved in that regard.

Listened to the Rome show for a bit earlier. He was talking about Osweiler (sp?) and mentioned he has 2 of the top deep threats in the game. Fuller, rookie, 3 games in, referred to as a top deep threat in the game seems a bit strong.

So one of these guys had two TD's for 50+ yards yesterday, and the other returned a kickoff for a TD.

Sanders has returned multiple kicks/punts for TD's now.

Picked him up in free agency after that first week, and have been super happy since.

Just added a 67 yd punt return TD

Thats awesome...

but I hate to see lanky fast guys do that job. I like to see small stocky guys with jets do that job...its hard to get a square pop on the little guys. Will is a big target. Hope he moves on from that at some point.

...but I'm sure he is fun to watch.

Low key thought he was going to be a bust just like I thought he was a wasted scholly when he signed him and he's proving me wrong again. Love how the Texans are using him to his strengths

I don't know if you get some kick out of picking on me lately or what.

My original post was over a week ago and a few days before the Duke game.

Yet you quote it two games later with a snarky comment of what the two players did yesterday...Now I feel much better about the offenses big play ability. EQ two long TD's, Stepherson with a long TD catch and Williams with a long TD run.

I don't know how you became a mod because you have been picking on me recently and I've seen you do the same to many other posters.

Dude relax, if you can't handle people quoting your posts then don't post. I was simply updating a concern that you brought up. Not picking on you, just updating a concern you brought up and one that others shared. It's actually a good thing as we can now have some confidence in our "home run threats".
