Giants at 10 would be so great.
Yes! God, our defense needs help.

If he falls to 11, da Bears need to pick him.

A hallmark of the Ozzie Newsome era has been pouncing when talented players unexpectedly fall into his lap on Draft Day, for one reason or another. At times it has been poor workouts, others it’s been character concerns. In this case it’s health. Notre Dame OLB Jaylon Smith has long been considered one of the countries most talented draft-eligible prospects and a likely Top 5 overall pick. Unfortunately Smith suffered a significant knee injury against Ohio St. in the Fiesta Bowl on January 1st, which has left his stock in flux. Smith is still expected to be chosen in the first round, it’s just a question of how early he will come off the board. This would admittedly be a best-case scenario for Smith but he is just too talented to fall much further. In some ways it’s reminiscent of the Todd Gurley situation from a year ago. Smith would be a terrific fit for the Ravens, who are in desperate need of an infusion of youth, speed and athleticism at the linebacker position. The versatile Smith offers options in terms of position and scheme but landing in Baltimore would allow him to unleash the unfulfilled edge pass rush potential that was underutilized during his time in college. It will take a decision maker like with vision, patience and job security to pull the trigger on Smith this early and I wouldn’t be surprised if Newsome is the man for the job.
The Bears aren't one guy away from winning the Super Bowl. Normally there's no way they'd get a prospect like Jaylon at 11. If the team doctors are sure that he'll recover, then take him. Fangio will spend a year teaching him and then he'll be unleashed on the North like a grizzly. If Dante Fowler lights it up next year do you think the Jags will regret taking him even though he didn't play his first year? Heck no! Take talent when you can get it.would love this too and I would buy my first jersey since urlacher, but they need soooooooo much help right now and right away that I seriously doubt they'll take the chance on him.

Any player could sit out their first year if injury demands it. Kevin White did this year. David Decastro did his rookie year when he tore his ACL after the draft, but I'm sure that the Steelers don't regret taking him even though he couldn't contribute at all his first year.Fowler did not get hurt until after he got drafted is the big difference there.

The big difference seems to be that you think the Bears need their first round pick to play immediately and at a high level. I just don't think that's true. The Bears aren't close enough to contending to demand their rookies come in and dominate.

I understand the first part but heck no about not wishing Jaylon to the Bears because of a lack of talent! He's the talent! Besides, Chicago isn't the Browns or even the Raiders or Jags of 3 years ago.I'm simply saying that all of those picks were made with a clean bill of health and they weren't injured until after they were drafted.
I totally agree the bears are YEARS away from being a contender again and it just becomes more painful every year to watch them. I almost wouldn't wish it on jaylon to go to them right now.
I have a very good feeling the Bears will end up with either Jaylon or Ronnie.
I'll roll the dice on Jaylon. I think he's gonna be the second coming of 1986 Wilbur Marshall.
Those 84-86 Bears defenses will never be matched. They'd all be kicked out of the league today. #'Savage!
And I'm sorry fellas but the Cowboys are going to work a beautiful trade back scenario and grab him. He needs to have a star on his helmet![]()

It's bad enough that Martin is shunned to wearing a star. Can't have Jaylon sent to purgatory as well. He'd look best staying close to home and representing the Colts. lol

Unfortunately...I really don't see them taking Jaylon, they need too much today and can't wait a year. From a franchise perspective, it would be perfect. Tank next year get a better draft pick and come out firing in 2017 with Jaylon in top 5 form and another top ten pick (plus Kevin White) you have yourself some premier talent that can make a serious impact. I would spend the next year scoping out a deal for a legit QB solution and eat Cutler's contract (which is a huge one year hit).
Sadly - they probably think they are close to turning the corner, a few key moves away and Jay Cutler committed.

Who was your team pre-84 when the Mayflowers dropped of your Rent-A-Team in the dead of night? Are you from Indy... or Indiana for that matter originally?
Born and raised in Indy. Ironically, the Cowboys were my team until Jones dumped Landry.
I fondly remember Jethro Pugh, Bob Lily, Blaine Nye, Dandy Don, Calvin Hill, Roger Staubach, Walt Garrison, Lance Rentzel, Ralph Neely, Bob Hayes, etc.
Are you a Yankee fan too? Let me guess NBA: Lakers or Bulls but lately Golden State.
He needs to be a Bear. LB Incorporated.
...and only 160 miles up US 30 from the crib!
Unfortunately...
The schedule sets up perfect next year so I bet they try to win and rebuild on the fly. They have a last place schedule, the AFC South and NFC East and the Packers finally blinked. I would not be shocked if the Bears went 10-6 and made the playoffs.
Personally, I'd pull a Theo and let the fans know we're gonna suck for a season or two. I'd publicly commit to rebuilding the nastiest defense in the league. That's what Bears fans love. I'd trade my 3rd and 4th this year to get Jaylon and Mackensie Alexander.
He's coming back!?
Is it that he signed with Jay Z too?
