Tracking the paths of Notre Dame transfers - Notre Dame Insider: Notre Dame Football

Greg Bryant, ASA Miami: As expected the junior running back did not play in the home opener for the first-year junior college program last Saturday night, a 17-16 victory over ASA New York. It sure looks like they can use him in the future. The team rushed for 48 yards on 27 carries, a 1.8 per-carry average.
Bryant, declared academically ineligible to play for Notre Dame in 2015, began practicing with his new team on Aug. 27, five days after they opened on the road with a loss to Blinn College. But as of Thursday, Bryant had not been cleared academically to play in Saturday’s home game against Elite Performer Sports Academy, a postgraduate prep school in Georgia.
The former five-star prospect from Delray Beach, Fla., has previously posted on his Instagram account that he’ll reopen his recruiting once he leaves ASA Miami to go back to FBS football.

Hasn't been cleared academically because of what happened here? Or at his juco? If at his juco that's incredibly concerning.

he joined the team pretty late, maybe there's a registration period to avoid ringers being brought in

Sampson spoke to Bryant Sr.: dorm is an old hotel, school resides in a mall, no training table

To be fair, we didn't have a training table either until like three years ago.
But yeah, whole thing's sad. Moreso if he's not even playing. Hope he finds his way.

If he hit the books as hard as he hit the weed, he would have gotten 20 carries tonight...

Oh, what could have been. He probably would have been the man now. Whatever, good luck.

I don't wish these guys good luck, I say good riddance. They failed themselves, and they failed this team. Same thing with Golson in 2013, people blamed Tommy, I blamed Golson. Tommy was just coming in to clean up after the mistake, he did more than what should have been expected out of him. The team moved on without these problems, and we've got the right guys leading the program today.

who cares, good luck to the kid and he was never going to live up to the hype that ND fanbase put on him. He was overrated coming out of high school and everyone told us that. Sure he had a lot of ability but can't get out of his own way. Give me Josh Adams and Dexter Williams all day. Josh showed more in 1 game then GB ever showed. If this kid wasn't a 5* not a single ND fan would really care. Good luck to him and I couldn't be happier with Josh Adams and Dexter Williams.

It's not the eleven best but the best eleven.

A simple concept but so hard for some to grasp.

Looking through this thread again, BGIF spittin' truth once again back in December. The dude just doesn't quit.

Also, looks like Bryant shut his Twitter down, although that may not be new news.

At first I was thinking "Do we really need Procise getting carries when Williams will likely come in prepared enough to take a couple carries as our #3?" With Greg being out for a bit CJ's cross-training in the spring will certainly be vital. Hopefully Williams picks things up quick too, not that he would garner a lot of carries as the #3 guy, but he may be needed if something were to happen to Folston (God forbid, knocking on wood), or CJ.

Fuck, if Tarean is out for an extended period of time, this may be on me. I'm glad Adams got some great playing time tonight, he looked great. CJ really stepped up to the plate too.

It's unfortunate that we didn't have Greg to carry the load tonight in Folston's absence, but it's fortunate that Prosise and the youngsters stepped up, and even more so that they appear to be bought in for the long haul.

HAVING SAID THAT:

Let's not take this opportunity to pile on or take jabs at Greg. He messed up, he's moved on, and we should let it be. He's got time to learn and make some good things happen for himself (whether you believe he actually will or not), just like ND's youngsters have time to learn and make good things happen for the team, which we saw the beginnings of tonight.

Stay away from the Greg thread and go celebrate fellas!

If he never steps on the field for a game, does he use a year of eligibility?

TIFWIW - but I seen a comment he made on IG to someone at ND (think a student that he's friends with) and he said something along the lines of "hold it down until I get back". Obviously, 95% probability it means nothing but thought I would share.

Go away Greg. Do your thing and find your way into the NFL. I'll always love you but you quit on your boys.
