I still don't get this. Why does he feel he needs to call daily? That seems kinda overboard.

Could be transcripts-related. To ensure that he doesn't have to decommit like James did.

my take on it is he knows the bus is almost full and could be just checking in to see if he 1) still has a commitable offer 2) we had a lot of ground to make up in his recruitment so could be a comfort level getting to know alford more and ND..while ND can learn more about him...

Yes the name placement is correct and thats why it could be taken as a very positive development. Wiltfong and the guys at II believe that we might not be technically the favorites but we have a very good chance here. The other teams that he is looking at all have various obstacles that we don't. Lets hope he has a great visit this weekend.

And more importantly, ND has Alford. Santa asks Alford what he can bring him for Christmas.

I think its transcripts related and ironing out details of visit perhaps. One reason why Larue couldn't visit a couple weeks ago was because his ducks weren't in a row. Probably just making sure thats not the case here. The take away is that his interest is very serious at this point.

He's my number 1 want to close this class. I'm a big believer in the eye ball test and have been proven right in recent years (I was giddy over big Lou) and this kid passes with flying colours. What exactly are they feeding kids where he's from?

Boy...I'd hate to be tasked with tackling him...even in my younger years. I agree that he looks like AP. we'll have him come out of the tunnel first without a shirt. Ha!

The best runningbacks in CFB: Stepfan Taylor, Montee Ball, and Eddie Lacy. Not a single one of them are burners

Did you forget Kenjon Barner? Or how about Ka'Deem Carey? Johnathan Franklin?

You are only seeing what you want to see. The truth of the matter is that their are good power backs and good speed backs and some that can do both.

I think his point was that people were questioning his fifth star based on a lack of top-end speed.

He was simply naming the best running backs in CFB that don't have top end speed. Barner and co. are some of the best as well. But you don't need to run a 4.3 to be one of the best in the game.

Barner's speed sure did him good against that Stanford defense.

Funny because Lacy did so great against Mississippi St (10 carries 26 yards), Montee Ball did so great against Michigan St (22 carries, 46 yards) and Stepfan Taylor did so great against Washington St (21 carries, 58 yards).

Again, speed backs and power backs both have positve and negatives including good games and bad games. My point wasn't that Kenjon Barner was the best back ever but that he was just as good as the power backs.

^ Above = brilliant post.

Because Alford's interviewing for the BC job.
^ Sarcasm and humorous because BC is interviewing anyone with a pulse. With the situation there, do you want the job?

A lot of recruiting threads have had really uncouth or uninformed things posted in them lately. If we took all of those threads with this one and put them in a cage, this one would kick their a$ses. Could some of you ask questions instead of make statements until your brain or your experience has a chance to catch up?

Still think that we blow Greg away on this visit. Not saying that he is going to verbal but I think we put ourselves in a great spot after this weekend.

Bryant's final two: #Notre Dame & #South Carolina. Bryant's Dec. 7 visit to ND may decide where he ends up.

Looking good with South Carolina wanting David Williams
