Hughes and Gray weren't burners. Until they broke free.

40s aren't 100s.

For those who wonder about his lack of elite speed, I just refer you to the SEC championship game. That is what big, strong, tackle-breaking backs can do.

Couldn't agree more. RB's with great speed are great for ESPN highlights, but i love a back that can keep grinding for 4 qts. and break the will of a defense. I'd take a RB that can run over people, over a back that can run away any day.

I love running backs that are built like Bryant. Some running backs you can't tackle, others you just don't want to tackle.

If a RB ever runs 40 yards straight ahead in a game with no cuts, he has some seriously awesome OL. Stop worrying about 40 times.

The best runningbacks in CFB: Stepfan Taylor, Montee Ball, and Eddie Lacy. Not a single one of them are burners

I hope the coaching staff keeps in constant contact with Bryant. Show him the love and that we want him to be Irish. This kid can be a difference maker for the Irish for the next few years. Love what we are doing on defense, but really want this kid for our RB.

Ok, for recruiting purposes. Any time a new page under this thread starts, we need to start with this. That way if any ND coaches happen to come across this page, they are reminded of how much a beast this guy is.

His body type is strikingly similar to Adrian Peterson!!! Huge arms and traps!!!

II is stating that Greg Bryant has been calling Alford daily to keep his recruitment moving in the right direction prior to his official visit this weekend. Very interesting

I will save the drama. His legs look as big and well developed as his arms. I have a hard time A) not seeing this kid above 220 B) he looks to be over six, maybe six-one-or-six-two. He towers over normal sized players. May just be "presence".

With a great visit this weekend, we could move up into the top spot or even grab his commitment. All the other schools have complicating situations that make it darn near impossible for him to end up at one of them right now... unless they change their status quo. If Notre Dame goes all out for Bryant and he has a great visit I think it's possible we could carry the momentum into a commitment before new years.

I don't have access, so can you just confirm for me that you have those names in the right places? If so, wow.

Yes the name placement is correct and thats why it could be taken as a very positive development. Wiltfong and the guys at II believe that we might not be technically the favorites but we have a very good chance here. The other teams that he is looking at all have various obstacles that we don't. Lets hope he has a great visit this weekend.

IMO he knows the situation w/ the #'s which is why i think it is important he is calling daily ...pure opinion here...but like other's have said other situations are unknown and with the #'s dwindling quick i feel he jumps on board this weekend

I still don't get this. Why does he feel he needs to call daily? That seems kinda overboard.
