Gonna be great when my Jackrabbits put the final nail in Pelini's coffin this weekend. "Not my true feelings"... Yeah right! The country will be introduced to Zack Zenner on Saturday. Go Jacks!

I had to look up who the Jackrabbits were. Not sure I'm buying South Dakota State University going into Lincoln and pulling off the upset, but crazier things have happened and you seem pretty confident. Good luck!

You're probably right, but Pelini is also the type of coach who could lose his team with his antics. If it at all happens this week, watch out.

Yep. A situation like this could go either way -- losing his team or galvanizing them -- and if it's the former, anything can happen. If this season has taught us anything so far it's that FCS schools should not be taken lightly.

I have a gut feeling this latest situation has lost him support from the university and fan base though. Nebraska has some of the best fans in CFB. I imagine they are a forgiving people, but I wonder how beloved Bo was before this news broke?

Nebraska's recruiting classes are always between 15-25 on the team rankings. If they want to be a elite program again they are gonna need to do better there. They don't have the athletes right now to even get to a BCS bowl.

On Pelini comments: Whatever.
Most of his f-bombs were directed at reporters, who everyone loves to hate. As for the fans, most sports' self-proclaimed "greatest fans" are over-rated and even they know it at some level. Pelini's real problem is his defense.

Strong has no interest in the SC job. He was only there for two years and that was 14 years ago. He's already been at Louisville longer and he and his wife are very involved in the community. After turning down the Tennessee job he made it known that coaching in the SEC was no longer a big deal to him.

Actually he does have interest in the SC job. And A LOT of interest in the sec.

At least that's what he's told members of his current staff at Louisville, one of which is a good friend of mine (and worked with him at SC and Florida).

Now, I obviously know that Strong isn't a stone cold lock for the SC job (or any other) due to the volitive nature and unpredictability of coaching. I do know the Louisville job is more appealing now that it is joining the ACC and who knows what will happen with other coaches and programs (anybody see Paterno or Petrino leaving their jobs when they did and the way they did??), but yeah, I'll say with certainty that Strong, as of this past December, had SC and the sec as his #1 choice. Would he take the SC job, if offered, this offseason, if say, the real SC offered as well? Who knows. I could see him (or any other coach) wanting the southern cal job over the Gamecocks. But to each his own. Would Strong stay at Louisvelle? Perhaps. Tom Jurich is a great AD and has stepped up to pay and commit to Strong...but it's still Louisville...and Louisville football at that.

How bout Bobby Petrino to Texas? The guy can clearly coach, and if any fan base will overlook his off field indiscretions, it's Texas.

Doubt it.

Many people (not saying you, specifically, roo) get caught up in the affair. The affair isn't what got him sh!tcanned. It was his lying directly to his boss, attempt to cover it up, and the entire misappropriations of funds/nepotism (hiring his mistress, who had a fiance that was also employed by the school) in hiring within a state agency that got him sh!tcanned. Add that to his sketchy dealings while at Louisville with Auburn and then directly with Arthur Blank and he alone made himself a pariah in coaching.

I doubt Texas would risk so much for Petrino when they could hire somebody else very good with way less risk.

In case some still didn't know who Art Briles was...

@PaulMyerberg: Through three games, Baylor's 751.3 YPG is far, far ahead of the FBS record of 624.9 YPG by Houston in 1989.

Sounds like the perfect successor to Lane Kiffin.

UConn now has a vacancy. That would be a perfect fit for Kiffin.

On Sunday, Earl Campbell said it is time for Mack Brown to step down or be forced out.

Clearly Lane's seat went from warm, to Kiffen Kindling, to flash point, to raging inferno in short order.

Terps look colorful in their red unis and state flag helmets. Playing like crap but looking colorful.

FSU outgaining them 328 to 122 so far. 3Q FSU 28 UMD 0

Edsall's 4-0 start against the cremepuffs is crashing.

And what does this have to do with the hot seat?

So does UNC's coach have any chance of losing his job? He's about to go 1-4.

Edsall started out on the cusp. He moved off with some cannon fodder wins and now is playing real competition ... And getting blown out.

Preseason:
On the bubble, feeling pressure 3-3.5 17 coaches including Weis 3.0, KU, Ferentz 3.0, IA, Grobe 3.0, WF, Sarkisian 3.0, UW, Edsall 3.5, UMD, Molnar 3.5, UMA, Brown 3.5, UTX

I'm not buying that he is in any danger. Today is ugly but FSU is nasty and the Terps have never(!) won in Tallahassee. And not that it has anything to do with not being about to stop Winston, not that anyone has come close, but they were moving the ball before CJ Brown got hurt.

Also, limitations of the transitive property with regards to football noted, but one of those cremepuffs was WVU who just handled #11 OK State last week. WVU likely gets thumped tonight but still they aren't a rollover team.

I'm saying MD is a BCS team or anything but they have played well this year and Edsall has some slack

Meh, maybe. I think he gets another year to see what happens when some of his recruits come through.

I think it could also depend on how they do against the NC State and Duke this year. A thumping by either team could mean the end

I doubt it, it's only his second season and he went 8-4 at a program that averages about 6 wins and Mack Brown only averaged 7.

Last year Fedora got a win over VT. That's UNC's only win (vacated games don't count) in the last 7 or 8 games so that's a plus for him.

Unfortunately his only win this season is over Mid Tenn. and Old Dominion looks like the only other sure win. 2-10 or 4-8 is NOT going to win support. Nor does getting blown out by ECU by 24 pts.

haha if you say so

UMD's schedule is rated as 142nd Toughest so far by Sagarin.

And there's what, about 125 Div 1 teams?

Edsall's '13 Wins
FIU Sagarin #184
ODU An FBS school, Sagarin #103
UCON Sagarin #118, they've already fired their coach
WVU Sagarin #71

Like I said cremepuffs.

Yes he is. They went 2-10 and 4-8 in his first two years. If they don't make a bowl he will probably be fired and even a 6-6 season might not save him. Maryland looks crazy for getting rid of Friedgen. Also when you search his name google wants to add hot seat after his name.

63-0 with 4 minutes to play is now the 3rd worse beating in MD history squeaking past the Johns Hopkins 62-0 win.

PSU won 72-7 in '93.

Navy won 79-0, 100 years ago this month.

Undoubtedly that's only because his name has appeared in this thread about a half dozen times skewing the results.
