If we land EV, I hope we get Terrodney too. Last night Alabama's speed at LB was very noticeable, and Terrodney is very athletic. We're as close as we've been in 20 years, and guys like these can get us to the top.
I complete agree with you for once.

Bring in EV and Prevot and Hollins speed. Get as much athletic as possible.

Eddie and AQM would have been a dream finish. Sigh.
And Tee, Byran Marshal, Wright and a list of others.

But, this is what makes Notre Dame different than the SEC.

On a side note I would like to see ND open admissions to qualified JC kids, if they exist.

That's my feeling too.

Exactly. This idea that one game is going to sway a kid one way or another is just silly. That isn't even on the list of reasons why kids select a particular school. See Demarcus Robinson choosing Florida even after their debacle against Louisville.

Interesting note on Alabama defensive recruiting. According to DC Kirby Smart they first look for size and power over speed. If a guy has both great, but if it comes down to size vs. speed they always go with size. It goes along with their desire to play power football.

Thats the thing... I don't think they do exist. Or they do in very rare instances (Aaron Rodgers being one). As Lax has said, JC kids are typically there because they didn't take academics seriously. I don't think ND has a specific policy against them, its just that they are usually not ready for the rigors of ND or interested in us

I like our defensive line over theirs. Offensive line? That's a different story, buy luckily one that has been greatly addressed this recruiting cycle.

i honestly think we can do this without going the JC route...the annals of ncaa/bcs champions are littered with 2 and 3 stars out of HS)...and obviuously with the 4* and 5* guys.

finding the diamonds in the rough and coaching/deleopin them is the key and i am very confident in this staffs ability to do both. we are getting enough of the 4 stars and the occasional 5 star as long as ALL stars get developed we will be ok.

And since so few JCs can qualify academically for ND, it doesn't make sense for our coaching staff to expend precious staff resources on scouting and recruiting such players. So even those few exceptional JCs (like Aaron Rodgers) aren't likely to pop up on ND's radar.

Agree. I think this OL class is exceptional. Montellus will be an animal at guard.

It wont come down to signing day the way things are going.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

TP, it was the phone call during the game, wasn't it? That put him over?

You are a bad man...getting every ones hopes up.

Hi, Buzz Killington here. Possible TP means it will be decided in someone else's favor before NSD? Hope not, but the post wasn't as crystal clear to me as it may have been to others.

Hey, Mr Killington! TP appears to be giving as much of a hint as he possibly can without actually saying that things are trending favorably for ND. Even if it's not, I'd rather know sooner than later so I'll take it lol

Once you understand what Notre Dame is all about, a bad game is not going to necessarily change your mind. Most competitive athletes understand losing is a part of life, appreciate being considered the underdog, and relish challenges. None of us woke up Bama fans today, why would he?

Edit: That second sentence does not apply to Lebron or Chris Paul.

Holtz had his coaches call recruits from bowl games all the time. They did it in the Orangle Bowl against Colorado.

You could look at this outcome as a positive or a negative. To me, it's a positive. An opportunity to get early playing time on a NC contender.

Not to mention a superior education while you're at it.

Hey TP,

Wanna clarify that a bit? Whats your thoughts/knowledge on Eddie's situation?

Also, I know you have some sources close to the team. Do you know if there is a few possible transfers/med hardships coming up that might be affecting scholarship numbers (without giving any names of course)?

TP said recently that he knows of at least one player who will transfer out. He didn't say who, unless I missed the follow-up post.

It's purely speculation at this point, but early indications point to Hendrix.

Ugh, even "speculation" seems like an overly dignified term re: Hendrix. I would call that "rumor." It's based on only on the fact that he told reporters he wants to play football, right? But he also told them that it doesn't really make sense for him to transfer before he graduates, and he has 2 or 3 semesters left. I don't think he leaves till after next year.
