Sports film noir . . .
Jaylon sells him on the drive to campus. Eddie comes in and Bobby D while combing his hair says "Eddie, do you lift?" Eddie looks at BK and says, "Where do I sign?"
Can somebody tell me what the inside joke is about Diaco and lifting and weight rooms, ect? He certainly is not a ripped guy. I know he is an excellent recruiter but I dont get the whole 'do you lift bro?' thing.
Apparently he visited a high school dressed in ND gear, and when he went into the office to check in, the principal, joking around, said "Are you from Penn State?" and Diaco, dead serious, said, "No. I'm Coach Diaco from Notre Dame. Where's your weight room?"
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

That's awesome. Didn't know that either. Thanks
Things important to him are graduation rate....
Edit: Also says Bama is in the picture
Plans on announcing on Signing Day had very nice things to say about ND and the graduation rate. Seems interested.
Planning on 4 visits ND and USC are the ones he spoke about. Will try to set up the visit to ND after this weekend. Things important to him are graduation rate and family atmosphere because he will be away from home.

If Vanderdoes comes, he eliminates the one striking need that we have on defense going into his academic sophomore year. If he is as good as advertised, he could move right into Big Lou's spot and let Sheldon Day stay at DE. I hope that he is studying the graduation and going-pro situation here, as it is a great opening gateway for him to anchor the ongoing best defense in the nation.
I have very little doubt that, barring injury, next year's defense will be the best anywhere --- making it, essentially, two years in a row. Vanderdoes can take two rather attractive demonstrable truths from that: a]. the coaches can really coach; and b]. the eyes of the pro scouts and the sporting public are going to be riveted towards the Notre Dame defense.
If you're good, big man, THIS is going to be the center ring, and the DT anchor gets a lot of props by the most knowledgeable fans in the country. Join this juggernaut.
We are gonna have to see a serious jump in the LB play on the inside next year to compensate for loosing Manti. Plus his leadership on the field is going to be hard to replace. Who's gonna step up and take over that roll? Grace may be able to take over the football part, but who's the "Next Man In" as far as the leader of the D is concerned???

I don't think that is the case. The defensive line is the real strength of the defense, it has allowed the LBs to roam and make their tackles. Nix will only continue to eat up two of the three interior OL, so the ILBs will still be making plays.
Yes, a guy like Grace is a downgrade from a legendary Te'o, but the defense and even the front seven will be just as good next year. If Nix would have gone to the NFL, there would have been a noticeable step or two backward for 2013.
Farrell on II thinks USC is basically out of it and that UCLA leads.

Per 247 will probably visit Bama in January along with USC and ND
I've been saying for several weeks that the loss of leaders is the only deficit that we face. KLM, Manti, and Zeke are formidable losses there.... BUT, here is how I believe that it will go. a]. Big Lou will lead, and Stephon will be right alongside him; b]. Shembo will lead and a senior Fox will be right alongside him; c]. Jackson will lead and coach Elliot will develop a safety quarterback [Collinsworth, Baratti, Shumate of those that already have demonstrated good play], who will forcefully direct pre-snap traffic.
Then there are the "intangibles".... that's Kelly, and that's Diaco. These guys are master motivators.
All of the above might be BS, but concerning how good we can be: all teams lose superstars. The thing that fans forget is that all the returnees are one year better --- sometimes that is astoundingly better. We have eight returning starters about four of whom will be playing like All-Americans on the front seven [maybe five or six]. And I wouldn't count Russell and Jackson out of honors either. Manti is legend. Many other supermen will swell up their games and fill the gap. [I actually worry more about replacing everything that Zeke did on the field at this point, but I thought the same thing about Harrison].
