This kid is fast enough, has a burst through the line, makes moves, catchs out of the backfield, knows where the goal line is and doesn't go down easy------Looks good --

I like the tape, seems to follow his blockers and even use the downfield blockers well. Another big guy couldn't hurt, we need someone to take Mike's place.
I don't think a 4.5 is gonna be bad for a 240lb. rb. (this is what I see from him in a few years)

Generally I agree with you. I'm not a big "workout-warrior" guy, normally. But that is mostly because there are so many other things that a player needs to be able to do well. The one position where that is the least true, though, is running back. In order to be good, it is important that a running back be able to run. Preferably fast.

Maybe that is an old time and he will be faster by the time he gets on campus, or maybe it wasn't a good time for him. But elite backs are usually at least a full tenth of a second faster. Especially in this offense I would rather have a homerun threat with gamebreaking speed than a bulldozer type back.
