To be honest what is the point of recruiting such a high profile kid, I believe he will sit for three years behind what we already have.

Maybe in two year but not this year.

It's called reloading. All the best programs do it...

What GB was trying to say was that the first commit of the 2012 class would not be Kiel. It will be another recruit based on a conversation he had. He does have information, and we will be happy with the news.

clarification = win

Actual performance-to-date aside, would you have said it wasn't worth going after Crist the year after landing JC? Can never have too much talent/depth.

I heard it was because he was going to commit but found about Tee and wanted his own thunder.

Ok, clearly just kidding but it's awesome to think about. I hope he can get his family and himself on campus soon and keep this momentum going.

I read on another forum it was because of a family medical emergency. Take that for what it's worth...

Rumored to be on campus today.

Also, I don't have a subscription but here is a teaser that says he will be named the nation's top QB according to Scout.

Columbus East (Ind.) quarterback Gunner Kiel is about to be named the nation's top signal caller. We take a good look at why on his junior tape.

Wish this freaking cold front wasn't moving in. It was in the 60s the last weekend when he was at Michigan. Such BS.

Well considering he's from Indiana... he knows all about our bull crap weather.... besides we all know about mantis recruiting visit.

I saw that he's listed as a pro style qb. Is he a capable dual threat too?

Runs the option read very well for a tall quarterback. On film, looks a lot like Cam Newton to me, probably not as dynamic as a runner, but he takes the ball and gets up field in a hurry.

Me likey.

Yeah, closer to a Blaine Gabbert in my opinion, but he definitely can move. If he ends up at Michigan I will flip. Hoke trying to sell him on a hybrid spread/pro-style attack... just doesn't even make sense.

REVISED:
Raised in Indiana, father, Kip, had a football scholarship to Butler while his brother, Dusty is currently battling for the QB job at Indiana. His UNCLE played for ND, COUSIN Brandon, playED for Indiana. He knows Indiana weather for sure, even if I mix up his family tree.
