All of this talk that TJ Davis got paid is wrong and irresponsible. You guys shouldn't throw around such an accusation unless you have some real evidence. And, of course, you have none.
Are you guys actually serious? Did you not watch the HBO special where they trotted out a half dozen Auburn players who talked about how everyone there is getting paid? Have you not followed this Cam Newton saga?
Please cut it with the "it's irresponsible" to say a kid might be getting paid who commits to
Auburn out of nowhere while less than a week ago saying he favors his home town FSU Seminoles. It's not like he committed to Northwestern or Stanford. He committed to a verifiably dirty program completely out of the blue and in the face of all logic/what he has previous told all coaches/reporters. I'm not just talking ND reporters, I'm talking all reporters about both his decision timeline, who he liked, OVs, etc.. As for flying in the face of logic, Florida State also has one of the weakest depth charts at CB around... so if he wants early PT (as he just noted) it's the perfect fit.
I'm sorry, you don't go from gushing about FSU, your relationship with their coaches, etc. to all of a sudden a firm "no OVs, War Eagle" commit to Auburn. It's time to wake up and start living in the real world. Am I saying there is a 100% chance he took money? No. He could also be a pathological liar or have a multiple personality disorder. But this series of actions does not make sense. Not unless he took cash, intentionally lied to everyone repeatedly (while waiting for an Auburn offer to become "actionable" or for other reasons...), or is really so whimsical that he up and changed his mind 180 degrees for no apparent reason.
Listen, it was painfully obvious he wasn't coming here after he back tracked off of "ND is favorite" and started talking about early PT. I wrote TJ off a long time ago and couldn't care less where he committed. It wass pretty obvious he was going to stay south. But get off your high horses about how it is "unreasonable" or "irresponsible" to suggest a kid took a pay day when he completely disregards all of his previous statements/plans that he constantly re-validated mere days ago... and commits to one of the dirtiest programs around.
