Okay, if you guys want facts, here a fact for you.. Remound Wright walk away with the MVP at the Columbus Ohio Nike combine over Hayes.. So obviously Justice Hayes isn't head over heels better than Wright who is a ranked the 21st RB on scouts while Hayes is 16th..

By the way Brendon Bigelow is the ranked 12th RB who is better. That's also a fact and has an ND offer..

That's fine...much better post than your original. I still don't see why you flipped off a fellow Irish fan for having the audacity to say that he disagreed with you.

As for Wright, here's a major fact. He came to camp for the ND coaches. They liked him, but they didn't offer, period. The coaches did offer Hayes. What maybe you fail to realize is that coaches see things in running backs that they want and that they need for their offense. Some guys will excel in any offense, but other guys might be better in a spread, and other guys in a pro-style scheme. Some guys might be better behind a zone-blocking scheme because of their running styles. Terrell Davis is a perfect example of that.

So whether you or I think someone is better is a moot point, because the coaches think Hayes is better. Now, if you were more open to hearing what other people think, then yes, out opinions should be heard because this is a message board after all. BUt since you flip off people who dare disagree, then why give our opinions at all...yours included? Because the one opinion that matters has been heard loud and clear...Hayes got an offer.

Allen had that third gear in HS, but I don't think he has ever gotten it back after he injured his knee in his senior year of HS. Had Allen never gotten injured, I really think he could have been a "he who shall remain nameless" Bush type of talent in college. That he is still able to be an effective back without his former speed is a testament to his level of talent, I think.

As for Huggins, while he does have a bit of that "3rd gear," I would not say that he has elite speed. His skills are mainly derived from his balance, strength, and shiftyness, IMO.

Hayes does not have elite speed either (I don't know of a back this year that does) but he has very good quickness and balance as well. What separates Huggins from Hayes (and the rest of the pack) is really Huggins's strength, which gives him good potential not only as a "cut and go" runner (the primary running style in Kelly's O) but also as a power runner.

The reason why Hayes is a better prospect than Wright and the other guys that have been mentioned primarily comes down to the passing game. Like Wright and the others, Hayes has good but not great speed. What separates him though is that he has good size, long arms, and has shown very good ability as a receiver, so he offers much greater versatility than the guys other than Huggins.

For me, Huggins is option 1, buy Hayes is 1a. I am not super excited about any of the other prospects.

No I'm just tire of people using the "coaches offered this prospect so obviously he's better than that prospect" arguement. Do coaches really get it right? If that's the case James Aldridge was the best prospect compared to the RB that are now on the roaster. Which that is not the case, it a smoke screen people use to their agruement to make it a fact.

secondly, not only do our coaches prefer huggins and hayes over (insert name here) but so does every other recruiting source (rivals, scout, espn, athlon, lemming) in the country.

According to Irish Illustrated.com, Hayes has pushed up his decision timeframe. Hopefully the Irish lead.

He hasn't set a date, just before his Senior FB Season. He had previously said that he wanted to take Official Visits this fall before choosing, but I don't think that will happen anymore. He says he doesn't want all the phone calls and recruiting to interfere with his senior year. He was at Michigan this week, and he said he was worried about the stability there. We're in good shape, just have to close.

According to the article, and I quote... "pretty soon". He also says he's going to cut his list real soon. Then he made comparisons between UM and ND. I got the impression it will be UT or ND, but we'll see when he announces. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Mods...please let me know if I'm breaking rules with my posting of this info. I don't want to put this forum or myself in a bad spot.

He canceled his visit, no mention he was going to commit to ND. That's it. Mich St. & Michigan are still hanging around.

You can summaries it. You just can't post word for word, but I'll just wait for BGIF to chime in to what you say is fact. Canceling Tenn visit could be fact but not the rest of what you say could be. He could favoring ND but he also has teammates at MSU.

The Tenn visit part is not my information. For that I am responding to what an earlier poster said. The information I am referring to when I say that we are in the lead if he has canceled his visit to Tenn comes from ISD. That is pretty much the summary of things.

Polish said it first but Huggins will still be recruited even if Hayes commits. Hayes is aware of this as well and could also play CB. This would hurt Atkinson more than anyone but he oculd play S or WR, not sure how open he is to that though

Yea if Hayes commits, they go after Huggins hard still. Huggins is the back I want, but we prob wont get him, but I'd be more then happy with Hayes.
