This thread popping up made me re read a few pages... Ugh. Wish his girlfriend would have come up to ND. She said she was making arrangements to come up before Aaron decided he wanted to be back in Florida with her... She should've moved in with mama Lynch it seemed like they had a good relationship.

Ugh. Missed opportunities.

Too bad too Sad Erin Lynch. As stated above, enjoy watching your new team get worked over by the subpar teams in the Big East. He'lll probably try and transfer again, and state he's now to far from his mom who is probably going to stay up north here to avoid being embarrassed by being seen with her quitter of a son. He couldn't cut it being a great player on ND's defense, he sure as he11 isn't going to cut it sitting and watching for a year.

I thought this board was done with its embarrassing attacks on the Lynch family.

now what, sit on sidelines and cheer for his new team. it'll be interesting to see if he can maintain focus and follow this through.

I am interested to see if he comes back in a year with the same on field success he had while a freshman at ND.

As a guy who left college and took some time figuring out where I fit best, I can understand what he's going through. I bet there will always be a "what if" in the back of his mind even if he says he has no regrets, or even if he ends up in a better position in the future.

I hope he does well. I hope sitting out a year has a positive impact on him.

There may be a loss next to that game, but we didn't get beat by them, we picked the ball up at mid-field and handed the game over to them with no fight.

It's been a few months before bashing Lynch, I don't see what's wrong with tackling it again, for those that want to. Close your eyes if your too sensitive. I know what I do when I don't want to read about something..... I don't read it.

Some of you guys have no tact or class whatsoever. I like the kind of fellow posters than can maintain decorum, even when they are pi$$ed off. In fact, if excuses are like @ssholes, then I am more than seeing double in this thread.

The process from what I understand is not a 50/50 proposition for undergrads.

Someone asked on what grounds he asked for a hardship waiver. Amir Carlisle moved to follow his parents with a job location transfer; Aaron's mom was already up here.

I believe Amir had a solid GPA and was in good standing at USC. If you all think this, and the timing were all about chasing tail, and there wasn't another story, with its own set of issues, I would like to sell you some preferred real estate holdings. I don't know how in depth the NCAA goes, but from the surface to deep down, there were few similarities between these cases. I am actually pleasantly surprised with the wisdom the NCAA has shown based upon my understanding of the two.

Not saying this will happen to lynch, but for most head cases this is the slippery slope downward. Hope he didn't peak in high school.

He by no means peaked in high school....he got college freshman all-american.

I'm happy the NCAA rejected his appeal. I feel for his reasons for leaving don't justify him not getting "punished" for transferring.

He will have time to hang out at the beach and with his gf and maybe even reflect on the last year. Hopefully it's a positive for him.

He's not a part of the ND family anymore so I'm not going to dwell on his life anymore. What he decides to do for now on was his decision so I'll let it be at that.

It is downright hilarious how defensive some of you are of Aaron. I think Aaron would laugh at our ‘a$$hole’ comments, then attempt to defend them.

Here’s a nursery rhyme for those that need it.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones (but words will never hurt me).”

From what I understand Aaron chose time with his girlfriend over ND. I personally think that is the dumbest thing ever. Succeeding at ND made him a household name. He was on national tv each Saturday. Tons of skirt would chase him. His choice and maybe he is "in love". Coach says that the wrong head made his decision for him. If thats the case, I see them breaking up. USF is on national tv once or twice a year. Huge difference. On a side note here, we had a guy on our team last year that was head and shoulders better than anyone else on our team or anyone we played. He blew assignments all the time and put the other 10 guys in a pickle because he didn't do his part. He was very self centered. I don't know Aaron, but I am going to tell myself that he is like my former team mate. Now its addition by subtraction. We are better because he is not out there this year. ND will be better because 11 guys will be playing team ball; not 1 plus the other 10.

I'm hoping enough time has passed that this thread can be safely re-opened.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Aaron Lynch was 270 at <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23ND">#ND</a>. He's 245 now. @<a href="https://twitter.com/coachtaggart">coachtaggart</a> explains the DL's development--on & off field: <a href="http://t.co/Gxtlh8Gjci" title="http://cbsprt.co/11ER732">cbsprt.co/11ER732</a></p>— Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) <a href="https://twitter.com/BFeldmanCBS/status/334711539594563584">May 15, 2013</a></blockquote>

USF's coach Willie Taggart is very excited about the maturation of Aaron Lynch:

Q: I noticed you guys list him at 244 (pounds). Did he lose a lot of weight when he got there?

Taggart. Yes, he did. He played at 270 at ND. In the year that he had off, he wasn't really motivated to do anything from what I was told and heard from everyone. He'd tell you that he wasn't really locked in, knowing that he couldn't play. Now, doing what he's doing and hearing some of that noise about how he can be this or be that, he's really taking pride in trying to be the best football player he can be.

He will be playing DE on a 4-3 now, so he wont have to be trying to stop the run as much. Plus will be an edge pass rusher.

still think he's pretty light for a DE, maybe they're going to that NFL mentality i guess, like a Jason pierre-paul or aldon smith

JPP is 275-280 lbs...he's truly an athletic marvel. 245 is definitely light for a 4-3 DE, but in college the majority of the OL he will be matching up with won't have the lateral quickness to exploit that.

Lol. He had a whole year off to train and didn't do shits because he wasn't motivated. Kid sure is a hard worker...

I thought I had mono once for an entire year. Turns out I was just bored.
