Who was the quarterback from Notre Dame that never started in college and played 14 years, or so in the NFL? And what team did he play for?

George Ratterman
He finished as a Brown
He was from Cincinnati and went to Xavier HS

Another Notre Dame quarterback, who like Ratterman, had to wait his turn behind Johnny Lujack was Frank Tripucka. Frank also had a long professional career. But the Notre Dame quarterback, whose professional career far surpassed his college, would be Daryle Lamonica.

Could, without a doubt, be a 3rd or potentially 2nd stringer for a few years.
Jim Sorgi made a hell of a living behind Manning in Indy.
Tommy may not have the physical gifts to start or be a 2nd string on a team with a questionable starter, but he has a great football IQ and could be an asset.

How does the expression "Could, without a doubt" work?

There are maybe definitely at least 20 draft eligible QBs in this year's draft who have a better chance of latching on.

Really? That's what you have to add to the conversation?

Sharp! I thought he may have been enough ahead of you that you might not have heard of him. Though he didn't start at ND, he was the last of only four athletes to win varsity letters in FOUR sports at ND!

Yea, no. Just remember Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen are riding the bench in the NFL. Rees isn't in the same ballpark as either of those two.

And I will take them. Since this is a unilateral bet, I am game. The odds are not good, that this will happen in my estimation, just good enough that it may be worth seeing you squirm a bit.

Where did you get 20B, with a "B"? Even though you have a little more, we can round it down.

Usually when I file thru the vBets and only see ones I will lose my ass on, I donate it to the poor instead. Figured if I'm gonna donate it, it should be to a fellow fan as opposed to the vBookie.

Now as far as Rees, I can see him being on a NFL team at some point, just not as a player. His mind can be an asset to a team, his physicals tools can't. I'm a big Reesus fan, but cmon guys. Really?

You referring to one of the memes, or me personally?

47593899.jpg

That is you?

Actually I was talking about "those pick-sured in your post."

Most people would think I was referring to the cartoon. But history will not note nor long remember that I was thinking, the dead guy!

On a more serious note, in sixth grade there was a kid that looked just like the face of this meme, although the resemblance took a turn at the neck. Kid was all of 5'8" and probably a good 160. He could take anyone in the schools lunch money, including the teachers. Kid was a beast. He moved away and I heard he ended up 6'4"ish. So if this kid is that kid, yeah I would believe it.

you mean the one that has, what some would call, a little bit of a weight problem.

I guess if Curtis Painter could be a terrible NFL QB, so could Rees. It's probably just better for Rees to take a graduate assistant job and get an early start on his coaching career, which could be pretty successful. An NFL career is not happening. Sorgi was more athletic and had a stronger arm than Rees ever will, and most backup QBs at least have some great skill that could make them a suitable NFL player if they end up with a good coach. Rees is inaccurate and has a bit of a noodle arm. Throw that on top of the fact that he can't scramble at all, and he's never going to take an NFL snap in a regular season game. Maybe a generous coach will give him a preseason spot, but that's it.

Book of Irish, Chapter 26

31 Then Reesus told them, “On the 8th of May you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:

“‘I will strike the QB,
and the fans of the Irish will be scattered.’

32 But after I have drafted, I will go ahead of you into New England.”

33 Irish Envy replied, “Even if all fans fall away on account of you, we never will.”

34 “Truly I tell you,” Reesus answered, “that very night, before the Roger Goodell crows, you will disown me three times.”

Oh my god, yes! Only meaner, and to the best of my knowledge, not susceptible to the pipsqueak! Teeth may have been a bit yellower, and I don't remember the coonskin hat, but otherwise . . .
