They're letting Cam Newton go, they couldn't find a trade for him. They did pickup Teddy Bridgewater. So right now the Depth Chart looks like Bridgewater, Will Grier, and PJ Walker.

You've got your signals crossed.

Eifert is heading to Jacksonville, who could very well add a veteran QB to compete with Minshew.

I think Newton at Jacksonville would make a bunch of sense, but I bet Dalton is tempting because he's a better version of what they've been working with the past two years.

He probably makes the most sense but I'm still not very high on Newton. He's hurt all the time, an inaccurate passer and isn't making plays with his feet. I think they see what they have in Minshew, and if that doesn't work out then turn to the draft next year for help.

Either way, I don't think this is an idea landing spot for Eifert.

LOL - 25 years later I still get the two expansion teams mixed up sometimes too.

Yeah, I let Minshew have the keys for this year. He's cheap, and he can do some good things. He works out, you found that 6th round gem, and can build around him. He fails, you didn't break the bank on a bust, nor a hurt/washed up veteran FA. Bring in a veteran backup and let it ride.

Me too. Who thought it was a good idea to let two team with the same basic colors into the League at the same time?

Jacksonville ranks thirty-second in the NFL on QB positional spending (Minshew and Dobbs) and is currently sixteenth in cap space. How about if they draft Jordan Love with the 20th pick - their second first rounder? Or they would be in good position there to move back with the right offer for someone who might want to move up for Love or another.

Their cap space ranking as for now includes the franchise tag price $17.8 mill for Yannick Ngakoue, who is unhappy and may well be traded.

Absolutely a strong possibility there, and they have the flexibility with those picks to make some nice trades too as you mentioned. I’m just not totally sold on a lot of QBs in this draft. I could very well be totally wrong, but I just don’t have anyone other than Burrow, Herbert, and Love.

Some of you may know, but Tyler has been one of the few to speak out on standing during the NA. Saw a report that he will honor a fallen police officer with a sticker or something on his helmet.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/jaguars-player-will-honor-david-dorn-on-his-helmet-report

He'll be playing the Colts in a week in a half. Hope the Colts hang 50 on the Jags, but I'd love to see Tyler have a great game.

Odds of some serious cheap shot PF? Very bold with his injury history. How dare he put David Dorn on his helmet.

I guess I don't get it. If some players want to kneel to make a statement on something, fine. If some players want to stand to make a statement on something, fine. If some players want to wear a purple tail, fine.

Not sure why people should care either way, but 2020...

No one does that I am aware of. But no point in waiting for an actual response. Let’s imagine one and consider other people snowflakes shall we?

Wow, this is the attitude that still perpetuates this country and is quite honestly, disgusting. This is the reason why the protesting has been taking place. Ef the far left and right agitators out there, and please don't act like there aren't any from both sides. The fact that the oppressed now have a voice and people are using their platforms to amplify this voice, should be heard. Yet you want to call them and supporters "snowflakes?" Still, disgusting. I do not want to continue to be apart of this message board. This isn't an opinion I disagree with, this is a disease that affects this country that I want no part of. Please remove my account from this board. Have a good night.

So happy that Tyler and Stephon Twitter are not afraid of standing up for what they believe. So tired of the prima Donna multimillionaire athletes like Lebron acting like all whites, especially police are out to get him. Can we do better, absolutely.

The majority of my black friends at my numerous nonprofit clients, most of which are blue collar workers, do not buy into these athletes complaints. A lot of them say, come into my neighborhood and help us with our problems instead of kneeling. Help us cultivate better fathers in our neighborhoods who stay home, teach their children by example and help them understand the need to respect authority and where there is injustice, fight the right way and not on the side of the road.

Also read a post by a black man with 4 boys, which was titled something like, LeBron, you don’t speak for me and my boys. Well articulated and thought out. Hit some of the items I mentioned above.

I have a foster daughter who is black, and over the years she has given me much insight. She is grown but I talk to her often. She talks of opportunity and jobs being the main needs where she was originally raised. I am very conscious of this need as a result.

The guy is wearing the name of a black police officer correct? Eifert has and is always been the strong and silent type. Him and Tuitt are exactly the kind of guys that drew me to be an ND fans. Came from completely different backgrounds but ND was always the place for kids to become adults. Giving up short term gains for the future. Is that their motto? 40 year decision. I can’t help but think ND is no longer that place. All I see is pandering to those who donate the most. Are we not all mostly catholic or at least Christian? Mobs destroying businesses or every color do only represent one side of the political platform. It’s blatant. It’s sickening that the side ND seems to pander to goes against one of our (Catholic) most core beliefs. ND used to to stand for all lives specifically the unborn. Crazy how many throw that out the window because of blind hatred.

My apologies. Thought this was America. But at least I have clarity on where most of the opinions come from.

Went Googling, think I found it, so read and judge for yourselves.

Link

I haven’t had much time lately to scroll the board here due to work but glad I landed on this. That was well stated by the father. I have volunteered in prisons to facilitate a program that deals w/ fatherlessness as one of the downfalls. Every year we presented this program, the majority of the attendees (regardless of race) had one thing in common: absent father. Sadly, it is much more prevalent in the black community but it is too high in all cultures in America IMO.

The author made some good points about the effects of an absent father as the police may have been one of the few males to stand up to their poor decisions. To be fair, it’s never that easy though. I also listened to a NY Times podcast that interviewed a black police officer in Flint, MI. He is a proud LEO and a proud black man but so he felt embarrassed in his community for a bit after George Floyd. He recounted times in his career where his fellow white officers would let their job get the best of them and take it out on suspects (usually black). Nothing on the level of George Floyd but enough to notice it was unbecoming.

There’s evil in this world. There’s also ignorance everywhere. There’s “meathead” cops who take advantage of their role but I refuse to paint that as endemic to every police force in America. There’s improvements to be made as this is a role that asks for perfection despite that being an unattainable goal. Hopefully, sound fair-minded people can find the middle ground to improve the situation w/o all the hyperbole from the media & those who stand to gain politically.

Sorry...I know this is Tyler Eifert’s thread so I’ll end by saying I hope the guy can finally stay healthy and be a contributor to the Jags offense. TE has to be one of the most dangerous positions in football today.
